Are the new Shorelander trailers still coming with the wrong tires? I recall a lot of folks having vibrations and getting tires replaced by the tire company?

Can anyone elaborate on that, and whether it's still an issue?

Not sure, I do recall seeing a thread with that in there. Side note, did you ever reach out to that dealer? Saw them today, they still have that 242X, it was a "demo" model from what I understand.

No... I didn't. But, I am in the process of making a change with my local dealer. We're working on something that the wife and I are pretty pumped about. Not quite ready to say it out loud, yet, though. Another week or two, I think. :)

The problem for me was the brackets on the inner wheel fender of my trailer were broken. I've seen all the post about Shorelander replacing the tires. Every post I read said the cause of the broken bracket was from the vibration of the tires being unbalanced. I took the boat and trailer to my dealer and tried to get them "Shorelander" to replace the tires. I was told that Shorelander no longer replaced the tires because they thought it wouldn't fix the problem. They told me "the wheel fender's design was the problem". They ended up replacing both wheel fenders . I still tried to get Shoreland to replace the tires, and they said "NO", and wouldn't budge at all. As of now, everything looks good and no problems.

I still have the original tires on my 2016 and tow from Atlanta down to PCB (over 600 miles round trip) multiple times a year. Once they upgraded the fender brackets problem solved! I would imagine the 2019 trailers come with the new brackets so I would just keep an eye on them.

I would run the stock tires until they begin to show wear or cupping and then switch to radials. Night and day difference in how they ride vs the stock Carlisle bias ply tires.

Agree. I ran the Carlisle bias ply stock tires until they were worn. Just had in for service and swapped out for radials. Much better. I mentioned the fenders and they found a bulletin on the Shorelander fenders and they replaced them free.

Here is the thread about the tires on the Shorelandr Trailers. In short is started with Shorelandr putting the blame on Carlisle for putting tires on the trailer that didn't match the spec card on the trailer causing trailer vibration from unbalanced wheels. Carlisle for a time started sending out replacement Radials for the bias ply for free. A large number of us got in on that. At some point Carlisle stopped doing that and started stating rather that even though the trailer spec card called for radials that trailer is actually spec'd for either type. So at that point any requests to Shorelandr or Carlisle received that reply. So not sure it applies to the 2019 but doesn't matter anyway cause they changed their stance on the trailer requirement for radial tires.

Here is the long exhausting thread on the issue
