I have a friend who inherited his dad's boat but needs a trailer to transport from Grand Lake, OK to Texoma. I would like to loan him my trailer for this. Any ideas about max capacity for 2010 MFI for the AR240? I think his boat is about 1000 lbs more than mine.

I believe you have two 3,500 pound axles. You would need to subtract the trailers weight from that.

I suspect that you will find a capacity plate on or near the tongue.

Does his hull match your bunks?

When I was in FL a guy asked if he could use my trailer, I saw pics of the boat and his hull would have just been sitting on the edges and corners of my bunks. I didn't want him to break my bunks so I said no. Then he told me he planned on winching the boat from the ground and dragging it onto the trailer, yeah, hell no.

Ok anyone with that trailer have it handy to check the capacity plate? Mine is in storage yard.

I thought about the bunks, but figured the first hurdle is weight. This guy is my college roommate, lifelong friend, and recent neighbor about 15 minutes from my house. I trust him and would probably be riding shotgun if we do this.

Keep the good info coming. Thanks guys!

I noticed on @Betik's trailer that the bunk angle pivots. Seems like they should self adjust pretty well.

@Betik, could you see if there is a capacity plaque on your tongue?

Here is what mine label says.

@jawsf16 I think you you are good. and the banks to pivot on mine.

Note: mine is a shorelander trailer.

Not sure if it helps but here is my 2008 trailer.

Thank you gents! I'll let you know how it shakes out. I think it's reasonable for weight, now the bunks are the next concern.

IMG_9745.JPG Mine 2010 mfi says the same thing as @buckbuck 's . That is, 6k max (3k per axle).

Thanks Ronnie. I have the exact same trailer as you for sure. I think same as buck too. So sounds like I have room for around 5500 on the boat. I think the key will be to empty his boat and fuel after we verify the bunks will settle reasonably well. Good news is I have radials and it is not a terribly long drive, and won't be happening in the heat of summer.

My buddy really appreciates the help! He doesn't want to buy a trailer just to transfer lakes.
