Unfortunately my boat is being pulled and stored for the winter a little earlier than normal this year. I have only trailered my boat once and remember that my 2016 trailer has rear straps that are permanently secured to the trailer. Can u guys give me some advice on how to tighten/loosen the straps? My trailer is in storage, so I can't get to it right now. Just want to know how the straps work before I get it on Saturday. I just remember that they were a little different than normal straps.

You mean like Boat Buckles self-retracting straps or something similar? I've never seen a trailer with permanent transom straps.

Im' not sure how they work on the Shorelander Trailers, but there is some wiggle room in the bow-stop on my MFI trailer. What this means is that when pulling the boat out of the lake and cinching down the straps, get them tight. Then, where it's safe to do so, go about 10 MPH, and do a hard stop. This will shift the boat forward on the trailer (as the bow-stop will move forward). Go back and retighten the stern straps.

The only cure I've heard for this is to weld your bow-stop in place.
 
Don't over tighten this straps. There's no backer plates on those tow points. You'll get spider cracking. I tighten them till almost all the slack is out. That boat is not going to come off and if it did, those tow hooks will do little to stop it.

Wow you are brave to do that at 10mph. I usually just get the truck to start rolling and hit the breaks.
 
FYI - when i was shopping for a used boats I seen a few of these very rusty - make sure you spray the metal components to ensure they last
 
Boat Buckles are thousand times better than those awful fulton ratchet tie downs that came with my new boat/trailer.
Just my 0.02 cents.
I'll be replacing mine as soon as I get to it.
In the meantime, if you MUST have those, apply cable/chain lube liberally, the only way you can make them work (kind of).

EDIT: He should not be calling those ratchets Boat Buckles in the vid. Those are NOT Boat Buckles. Do not fall for that crap.
