Travelling with mooring cover on or off?

I wonder if there are differences between the FSH covers and the other models? I've done hundreds of miles with my mooring cover on and have not had any damage.

Have actually towed both ways (disclaimer: about 90 min max trips, but highway speeds). I have more issues with the cover off. More seats dislodging and trying to fly, more hatches opening, etc. Takes time to lock everything down, etc. With the cover, issues with strap ends, time to put it on (about equal probably with the time to lock everything down), etc. Need to check it for rips and such so they don't grow and make a mess, but really have not had that happen (small rips, but nothing like it shredding or anything).

On the whole, I now put the cover on.

I believe these covers are designed to suck in and tighten up without poles at hi-way speeds. Securing your stuff in the boat.

I would only caution you if the cover is compromised like small cuts or the fabric is sun weathered. I have many spectacular “rip offs” rendering a still usable cover to a bunch of rags!
