I wish they did it as a standard item and take the "option" out of the equation.
Dealers out here have no real reason to spec em with aluminum. We're over 1000 miles from salt. I'm kind of in a spot where I want the boat now so I can get it home and do a little accessorizing before my Florida trip. Otherwise I'd probably special order and wait. Oh well, I won't be the first painted trailer ever to dip in the ocean. I'll rinse the best I can and hope for the best.

FYI, dealer cost for upgrading to aluminum trailer is only $300.

I was charged $500 extra

Dealer cost is $300, but they charge anywhere from $400-800 more for the upgrade.
