I don't think it's really gaming or preying on people, it's a crazy market right now for boats, houses, plywood, etc. Everything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, and right now, this particular person thinks someone might pay $60k, they may be wrong, they may be right, but either way it's not preying on people.
This is why I don't think the dip will be that big. Lots of us are keeping cash in hand, waiting for a big dip, and then we just drive it right back up.
Lots hand cash on hand 13 years ago too for people (not me, I was poor getting my career going) Dip will be big. Not sure if 2008/9 big but it will be big none the less.
Was just surfing around this morning and came across this, not too far from me. Perhaps I should start throwing a wax on the boat and get ready to sell ?
I know y‘all are just goofin mainly. I’m just thinking of all the great memories I’ve made on my boat, in just one year mind you, and I wouldn‘t trade them for any price.
Cross your fingers on gas prices. We start seeing $5-$7/gal gas and boats will be dropping like flies. I can sit here and tell you gas prices don't scare me away from having a day with my family but realistically we all have our break point.
If you don't fill up someone else will in their boat. I have already told the family that we will be splitting our time in watersports and lounging around and relaxing to cut back on fuel consumption. Last year 90% of the time I was burning a full tank each day, round and round and round the lake, stopping long enough switch riders and a bio break.

@HangOutdoors ..... We just received a memo from our boat insurer that due to COVID boat prices have increased considerably and we may wish to have ours re-evaluated. It was a general form letter but wouldn't have applied to me anyway as I had a replacement cost rider. As for waxing your boat to sell it - well, I believe it would (like most on this forum) be gone in hours. A couple of weeks ago we listed our 2020 SX195 at a perfect price for us on a Saturday afternoon on auto trader. I was shocked. People were willing to purchase it with non-refundable deposits from the pictures and description alone!!!!! It was sold by Sunday morning for the full asking price. I even had two bidders one of whom was willing to e-transfer a $5,000.00 non-refundable deposit plus 5K over asking price. I declined his offer (don't need the extra 5K and I keep my word). I had people calling a week after the ad was removed! Any decent boat (motorcycle, motorhome) where I live is gone in a day. I have never seen anything like it. My best friend kept his big bowrider - so with some gas help I can still get on the water. I still monitor this forum as it is the most informative boat forum I have ever been on!
I wouldn't sell mine without a replacement. TBH, being on the water again feels right were I should be after many years of doing other things. Once things normalize a bit and the new model changes come out in the next 1-2 years we may consider upgrading or changing. But it looks like the fishing mods I put on will be fine so bird in hand, enjoy what we have........ At this point in my life boat ownership feels right for us. I know it isn't for some and that is ok.

Feeling pretty good about paying full MSRP right about now. We did just pay $4.33/gal for gas at our marina a couple days ago though but so far we mostly use our boat as a floating patio to sit, listen to tunes, and have a beer on within 20 min of our dock. I feel the gas price pain for you heavy watersports people, hopefully that was a fluke. Who puts the fuel delivery pipeline directly on the Internet anyway? Idiots...

If you dont mind me asking, what did you get for it? There is a 2013 AR210 my local dealer has listed for $44,850, and it is pending sale. Thats only $1149 below the price of a 2021 AR210. It is crazy.
I had a chance to sell my boat at 9k over what I paid for it in January of 2020. I didn't (for all the reasons), but supply and demand is a real thing. 4.2% print on inflation in April - that's VERY real too.

New home sales were down almost 10% last month IMHO due to rising cost of lumber (up 30% year over year) fuel et cetera. The landscape is definitely not the same as the last crash.

Sorry to see that your boatless, Canuck. The boat market is crazy right now. Some offers can be to hard to walk away from. If the boat market falls off later you may be well positioned to take advantage of someone else’s financial despair.
I paid close to full pop in February of 2020 but that seems like a screaming great deal right now. Plus I got freebies - premium cover, winterization, 10 hour service, safety stuff, no delivery or setup charges. Doubt I could get that today.
