I have a dumb question, is it ok to be listening to the radio while the engine etc is off? As far as battery drain etc?

Mine is on for like 4 hours at a time with no battery drain. Radio and Simrad on all the time
If you are running any powerfull a/m amps/equipment you might want to add a second house battery

The radio also has a low voltage alarm so you can know when battery is getting low. It’s off by default so you’ll need to find the setting and turn it on if you want to use it. I think it’s good for added peace of mind.

@rayg1022. The only dumb question is the one not asked. You may also want to consider getting a jump box for jumping dead batteries. It will serve you and others in distress on the water. After boating season keep it in your vehicle for road emergencies.
