Vacation to Destin, FL

Been having a blast. Made it out of the pass yesterday. Not too bad going out. Coming back in was a bit rough. I would hate to see it on a bad day. Snorkled at the East Jettie and played on the beach there. Then went out of the pass and found a pod of dolphins. We followed them around for about an hour. Really fun day. Much better than sitting on the beach all day.

@ToddW850 lots of good info. I spent 6 years, the last time, total of about 10 years in the waters around in everything from a 14' SeaDoo to 31' Hunter sailboat. Great area to boat in!

Glad you had a good time @Familyjetboat . And yes, you gotta be careful going out of the pass when the waves pick up. There is a certain angle I've learned, to make it the easiest.

No doubt @nofd843 ! Love living and boating here. Lived here my whole life and can't complain.

Where do you all stay when you are there? Have you found many homes with a dock?

The place where we stay (friends condo) let's you keep your boat on trailer and I drop it at a ramp.

Was just looking for Spring Break and found a place that has a dock. Try this if interested...we will prob go down to Sarasota area instead.

Check out this Vrbo rental:

In laws live in Navarre, we stay there and ramp at Navarre Beach by Juanita’s.

We stayed at Waterscapes last time and docked the boat at Adventure Marina. Waterscapes was great. Adventure Marina was ok. They were affordable, but the rinse off water didnt work and the shore power kept cutting off. It was a great trip though. We had a lot of fun and bringing the boat with us added an element that we had not done before.
