Hello, we've just "discovered" jet boats and this weekend we'll be going to look at the Vortex 203 VRX with a single 250HP engine and I've read conflicting info about the weight of the boat. The official Vortex website says 2600 lbs dry. But a few other sites where I've looked at models online shows as much as 3200. Is the 3200 with twin jet engines and 2600 with a single?
Thanks!

The 3200 might be right for a twin engine with tower. I have a 223 without tower but 2 engines. So couple feet longer, but no tower. Mine is around 3200 or so dry.

Thanks @BobJohnson, that confirms what I thought after looking at the specs of the 223 and 243 models. I think someone in a video had the wrong info and one dealer posted the twin jet specs.

Looking forward to checking the fit/finish and features of the Vortex. We looked at the Yamahas, Glastrons, and Scarabs last weekend but have to go out of town to view Chaparral models. The wife is getting wound up about all the checks and me poking my nose in all the crevices, but I want to be sure before we get our new "baby".

I believe you will be very impressed with the fit and finish of the chaparral. Very, very well put together boat. Your doing it right. Enjoy the search!

So we have now seen every jetboat in our size category and we just want to do a test drive now to finalize our decision, but the Vortex is at the top of the list.

I also had confirmation of the weights directly from Chaparral who sent me a document with VR/VRX technical data not posted on their website. It lists dry weight of the 203 single VRX at 2600 and twin VRX at 3200. I know the extra engine and pump only adds about 300 lbs, but I also found out that the fuel tank is the same as the larger boats (52 gallons instead of 35) for the twin engine model, and also the transom and mountings are all beefed up for the additional torque. That all adds up to the 600 lbs increase and now makes more sense. Your 223 VR is listed at 3600 dry.

I think it's more like 2800lbs with single RTX250 & a tower.

My VRX203 2121 model with tower & 300HP Rotax is listed at 2600 LBs dry weight with engine. The salesman told me that the twin engine option for the 203 is no longer available.

We looked at Yamaha, Scarab, Glastron & VRX jet boats before replacing our 2009 Seadoo 180SE. Chose the 2021 VRX203 with 300HP single engine. Weight is 2600 pounds.. Best access from back for my spouse and had many good features our Sea Doo didn't - cost a whole lot more, but it is a high end build all around. We love it although the owner's manual sucks and my local Seadoo mechanic doesn't have their special diagnostic software.
