Bargains What A Deal!!!! <Post up Bargains Here>

Did they have any ski ropes on sale? They've had 50% off some stuff for a couple weeks online but nothing caught my eye. The last couple of years this sale was a lot better online and drained my wallet ($15 kids neoprene life vests, $150 wakeboard I have yet to use, $25 towable tube). Figures, the year I have gift cards...

Sorry I did not notice. I ended up with a tube and three o'brien neoprene vests for under $100.00

Thanks mate! The deal is good on orders more than $50. I just purchased a 49.99 battery and a $1 screwdriver to save the 30%.....nice!

I always buy my spark plugs for the next year in these discounts then pick them up in store.

Ok, since I bought mine, I can share this deal while they last. Back when the GoPro Hero 4 was due to be announced, Sam's club put together some bundles of the GoPro Hero 3+ Black at a highly reduced price, like $120 less than the camera alone and it came with a dual battery charger, second battery and remote.

Well, with the new Hero 5 looming, Sam's has done it again. The top of the line GoPro Hero 4 Black runs $499 every where since release, most places have discounted it to $449 including the GoPro website. Sam's has the Hero 4 Black, floaty back door, Floaty stick, a pile of mounts, Dual battery charger and two batteries and a tiny 16GB Sandisk Extreme for $379!!

That's still a ton of cash, but a great deal without having to shop Ebay for a used one in hopes that it still works. I could not contain myself as I had just replaced my 3+ Black with a Chinese knock off. I just could not justify $500. This cam is incredible. Now is the time to buy for those on the fence. If your local Sams does not have it in stock, they do free ship to store in a couple days.

Good luck!

I still believe this GoPro 4 Black deal is a good package, I was a little bummed at the GoPro 5 launch yesterday. I see the new Hero 5 Black is initially offered at $399. WOW! They had to, as the cheap Chinese knock offs are knocking at their door.

@biffdotorg I bought the new Hero 5. I looked at the Sam's deal but what sold me was the fact that the 5 is waterproof without the need for a housing and it has the large view screen with the same 4k recording as the 4 Black. The only thing that I missed out on was the bundle. I did get a free 64g SD card with it which was a pretty good deal. This is my first GoPro but after reading the comments on previous models I wish they had been able to do something about battery life. So far after playing around with it the battery is not that spectacular at ALL.

Good for you! Welcome to the sickness. The 5 is a far better camera, I was just unable to use it with the gimbal on my drone. So I had to go 4 either way.

There are plenty of tips that will save you on battery life. The biggest is to shut off WiFi. That and shutting down the camera between uses. Although, it should last quite some time in standby. You can also change the action on power up. In case you want to power up and record instantly, you can change the setting for one button record from power up. Otherwise, watch for batteries from third parties as well. There should be plenty offered very soon if not already.

A weekend ago, I filled three cameras and burned up 5 batteries shooting all day on the Wildcat. I usually can swap batts at lunch and last all day shooting and standby.

Good luck!

@Mystic1906 it is only waterproof I think 33' you will still need a case deeper just a heads up.

@biffdotorg I have only taken one video so far but I got hooked on remotely using my Samsung Galaxy to operate it. I was watching the battery drain rapidly so I know that won't be ideal when I'm not just messing around with it at home. I am going to start looking for a few extra batteries for it. Don't want to be stuck on the water with just the one. I can already see myself getting addicted to videoing everything and my 7 year old son is already asking to use it to make videos of him displaying his toys to show his friends at school o_O

@2nazt I don't know that I will be going deeper than 33' for a while. I haven't dove since I moved to the US although I would like to do some spearfishing but I have just never looked into what the laws are on that in Florida.

I'm used to the crystal clear water of the Cayman Islands. I don't see that kind of water here in Florida so I unless I'm going back home it will only get used in shallower water.

@biffdotorg What video and picture editing software do you use? I want to splice some videos and pictures together to make a 5 minute short film on my son. I took some video of him yesterday that I want to use with some pictures I have on my PC.

If you want something fairly easy, try GoPro Studio. It's available for free on gopro.com. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but not near as difficult as other professional video software.

Personally I use GoPro studio for my quick and easy cuts and Corel Videostudio Pro X7 for the more in depth videos.

Yup, 10M/33' is the same as the other Hero's with the case. So let's be real, that is all the deeper anyone is going to go with these things unless diving. And at that time, you would want a case. Most folks don't go beyond snorkeling depth, so you will be good.

Honestly, I am finally pushing the limits of Movie Maker. Windows Live Movie Maker is free and easy to operate. But I finally want to do some better edits and more advanced transitions. But it works and anyone can run it. If you have Mac or Ipad, go iMovie. Again, cheap and easy.

Many talk about Sony Vegas and a few others. I may have to give those a shot as editing can take so much time. I was just editing down some clips from our trip on the wildcat and I am tossing around 4Gb files. Tip from me to you, don't let that camera run for extended length. The files will be so big, it will bluescreen your computer for lack of RAM. All the clips on my youtube channel have been done with Movie Maker, except my Preview video which was done in iMovie. They are cheesy, but it allows me to share my clips easily.

I did play with that when I bought my first GoPro and gave up on it. I see it is updated yet again with the release of the 5's. I think that is a good one to try, again, it's free. And with the new cloud service, there may be some easy ways to share clips. There again, the clips are huge, so be real about what you are going to send to someone over an internet connection.

I have yet to start using 4K or 1080/120fps, they will only get larger then.

@MrMoose I have been following your sale posting and drooling. I wish I had the money and means to buy it. Even without the upgrades it would be a leaps and bounds upgrade from my '07 AR210. Good luck with the sale. If I come in to some money I might make the trip from Florida.
