What are the best non GoPro action cameras?

Considering the audio issue @OUT ON THE REEF has with his Hero 5 black, I would pass until they get it resolved. Thankfully my Hero 4 Silver doesn't have this issue or the camera would be a paper weight.

I still have a go pro hero white edition that works great after many years of use. I thought about selling it on Craigslist but couldn't get more than $50 for it given its relatively low specs compared to what is available today. If you don't need all of the modern bells and whistles consider going with a used go pro 3 or 4. I bet a used hero 3 black edition can be had for under $100.

The hero 4 silver has been the most user friendly and integrated action camera I have with its built in touch screen. I just got my son the Hero session 5 and he loves it because of how reliably it connects to his phone, I don't know if it has the same sound issues as the standard hero 5 though.

The only other a action camera I have is the Polaroid cube, it's good if you don't want anything fancy but could use a wireless connection and better support accessory wise.
360 degree cameras are selling for $400 at Best Buy but I don't know yet if I'm will ever be getting one, maybe as a home security camera / front door monitor someday.

There are a few on amazon that look similar, for $60-$80 looks like ill give one a try, like @robert843 said...if it breaks after a year who cares

I think we are going to try an Apeman A70 for $65 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DXSEFB0 . We may try some others as well. The A80 is available with 4K video for a little more but I have no plans for 4K video. Ideally I would like to find a camera with really good noise cancelling and image stabilization.

By the way, can anyone recommend a dash cam under 100 bucks? I just bought a nice sports car that I might set up with a dash cam to nail some idiot who hits me and then lies about what he or she did?

I am starting to think the http://sjcamhd.com offering smay be some of the better alternatives but need to compare them further. Their video quality and image stabilization is great. Unfortunately they lack noise cancelling but do allow for using an external microphone.
