I was cleaning the boat today. I had seen these marks on the tops of the seats for a while, wasn’t sure what was causing it figured it would come off when I cleaned it. I purchased the vinyl sauce and it did alright but did not remove these.

These are the tops of the seats, looks like maybe the cover could be causing this.

Also it’s hard to see, but when it rains it looks like the cover bleeds the black onto the gel coat. It’s very faint and the hot sauce did t take it off A7601989-2A07-453C-B7DE-93F8D1B4BE2F.jpeg

Two more spots on the seats that I could get off either.

Any advice would be appreciated. This is a 2019 AR190.

I find that the new Yamaha vinyl is pretty shitty. I find 303 AP to be the best long term solution, I use it very liberally (buy it in gallon jugs, way cheaper) and use it for both cleaning and protection. It is GREAT stuff.

The top pics staining - given the location it's got to be the cover. That is also giving you the black-ish runoff that stains gel coat. I've been fighting this every time the boats gets rained on when not int he covered slip (but with the black premium factory cover on).

I have not found a way to prevent it, other than waxing the hull which makes removing the black streaks possible.
I used to use Klasse All-in-one which is a spectacular cleaner wax, it will get rid of those (most likely). More recently I switched to Rejex and removing the streaks seems easier. I'm now sticking with the Rejex as a go to (no) wax. CHeck some posts by @djetok , he converted us to the good stuff (Rejex).
It used to drive me crazy, I glad I'm not the only one!
Here is a pic (difficult to see) of the streaks:

The hull (above) had been previously Rejex-ed, and I can remove the streaks almost completely by hand with nothing. I attribute this to Rejex as I could not remove those as easily before at all.

Almost gone, with no treatment - just bare hand (below), later on it gets completely gone after quick Hot Sauce or anything like that on a microfiber towel wipe.

I agree with @swatski on the vinyl quality (or lack there of) used by Yamaha. The vinyl on my 2008 was almost as good as new when I sold the boat in 2015. The upholstery on my current 2013 242 LS is inferior to what Yamaha used back in 2008.

If those upholstery sections (dark colors on the trim area of the vinyl) are fraying or permanently discolored I’d encourage you to notify your dealer before the initial 12-month Warranty period expires:

“PERIOD OF COSMETIC LIMITED WARRANTY: Imperfections in the exterior cosmetic gelcoat finish (cracks, crazing, mold marks, etc.) and upholstery on a Yamaha Boat shall be warranted for a period of one (1) year from the Date of Original Purchase for both Personal and Commercial Use.”

@swatski I will look in to the Rejex for the hull, as far as the 303 on the vinyl, do you just spray and wipe and its good to go?

I will also be adding the cushions in my email to the dealer about the radio (3rd time moisture in the screen) and bimini top seems stretched and a little loose already.

Yessir, the 303 goes on from a sprayer, I let it sit for a bit, and wipe it off. I smudges on glass, so I follow up with Windex.
303AP is not a cleaner, they do sell a 303 cleaner spray but I dont think it is anything special. I think that with repeated, saturating use of 303AP a dedicated cleaner is just not needed.

So 303 is a protectant after I get it clean to prevent it from getting dirty again.

I haven't seen a price like this on a gallon of 303 in years... $38!

The product # is 30320 - which is the same as 30370, more recent, apparently the exact same product. I go through about 1.5gal a season.

I also got tired of paying $15 a can for 656 every few weeks, so I decided to switch it up. It finally starts to feel real - getting ready for the season!!!

Would Rain-x be a good idea for the glass on Boat?

Well I used it on my glass on my XS190. Only the outside portion and it performs just like a car windshield does. Love the stuff !
