I have a 2010 242LS - At wide open throttle I am only able to rev around 7,200 RPM - is this low? At that rpm I move at around 47 mph.

1 engine, 250 HP.
~8,000 RPMs (Will confirm)
~43 MPH (depending on load and conditions)

2014 212x 7600 rpm 52 mph with four people and 2 batteries gps

Should get 7800 or slightly below and between 50-53 with a light load, Bimini down. When is the last time you changed your spark plugs?

Last year - but same rpms

In a 2010 242 ls at sea level, wot = 52 mph at 7,800 rpm.

This video may help you check to see if your throttle stops are adjusted correctly.

Used to be 52mph. Now it's more like 48 mph. I need to clean my hull. I can feel how rough it is so I know that drag must be worth about 4 mph.

Move the people from the bow to the back of the boat.

Thanks - I'll check that this weekend.

Speed is with 2 pob - hull is clean - had the hull blocked this spring and boat hasn't spent time in the water except underway!

About 7500 and 53.

Exactly the same as mine, +-1, but our 240 is a CARB model. Fastest I've seen on ours was 49 with one person/low fuel/no racks/no bimini/no gear and the wind at my back....

2007 AR230. Speed 48 - 52.. 10,300 rpm....
