Whats your towing MPG?

I am curious if the guys getting higher MPG still have factory tires on the trailer? I feel a lot of resistance comes from crap tires on mine.
Still running factory Carlisle Bias Plus on the trailer. Have BFG KO2's (Heavy as dammit) in factory 275/55/20 on the truck.

Most likely next season will see radials on the trailer and some lighter Continentals on the truck. I doubt I see much change in mileage from the upgrades.

Depends on the speed! 2018 Audi Q7

60mph....12.5mpg
70mph.....10.5mpg

Old 2011 Audi Q7 TDI

60 mph.....16.5mpg
70 mph.....13.8mph

Miss the diesel
Same mileage on my '18 Q7 at 60mph. After my trailer tire blow out I try to stay below 70.

I drive in S mode (higher rev shift and cruise) because I believe it is less wear on the engine. You know, internal engine wear from high torque load. Pulls boat great and 4WD helps at the ramp.

2017 Ram 1500 ecodiesel. Currently running on 95 with 5 people and all their junk for 2 weeks, plus tools etc. Towing ar240, stock tires on trailer, truck full of fuel, boat at 60% fuel. Doing 73 mph and getting an average of 14.3 mpg. Cluster has been verified as accurate by comparing to hand calculations.

2010 Nissan Pathfinder V6 4WD with Yamaha AR192.. 80% of its use is for towing in city. I estimate 12mpg.

concur. 2012 with 4.0 we tow 60 miles to our favorite lake, 4 trips this year. I always reset the mpg counter thingy.

RIGHT at 12.

crazy tail wind one day, 14.5 up 10 back. still 12 lol

That's 14.5mpg highway with ideal conditions? I bought my Pathfinder in March and I only use it for towing the boat in stop-and-go traffic to the launch. I daily drive a 2016 Hyundai Azera that the lease ends in September. Then I will begin to daily drive the Pathfinder. I didn't want to buy a new truck because it's expensive with all the fancy features.

2004 Yukon 5.3L (packed backend and pulling lightly packed 212X) 65-70mph : 10-11mpg

it gets around 20 everyday driving.

the towing is in the 12's no matter what I do. In the 60's its high 12's maybe 13 i suppose. that 14.5 was traveling north with a 15mph tailwind. Lost the gain on the way home. the drive is 50 miles highway then about 5 of stop go.

Pathfinder probably my favorite vehicle weve owned, really. Very Versatile especially with the 3 row seating. I dont see us getting rid of it anytime soon.

The new pathfinders (13+) are minivans.

2017 Ford F150 Ecoboost - 11.6 mpg average on a 700+mi trip fully loaded with stuff for a week.

2017 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi with 8' bed. Towing AR240 11mpg, towing LL TT, 8.5 at best, towing 2017 Yamaha VXR waverunner, 13.5, same as with nothing in tow!

2002 excursion with the v10. 8-9mpg City. 12 towing over a 5500' mountain. 14 all time best.

2018 Ford Explorer Sport (3.5L Ecoboost). I get about 12.5mpg (~19L/100km) at around 70mph (110km/h). Two adults, two kids and gear.

I didn't find a huge difference with the tower up or down. I always trailer with the mooring cover. 2008 212X

BMW X5 i35 around 14-16 mpg 60mph

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 Trailhawk or High Altitude.. 13-14 mpg between 70-75mph.

2019 Ram 1500 Hemi with 800 miles on it (I am told it has a ~4000 or so break in period where it will run a bit richer?! ...idk)

We just did 216 miles in 3.5 hours = 11.2 MPG pulling Yamaha AR210. We were fairly loaded with bikes and other crap.

We did another trip up north, this time we took a different route where our speed was a little slower at 60-65. We did 205 miles in 3.5 hours = 12.5 mpg

I only get 6 to 9 with my 2008 Escalade Esv. Most of the time we have 6 to 7 people inside though

Dodge Durango RT 2014 v8 Corsa exhaust cold air intake oversized throttle body 11 - 12 mpg Bimini top removed shipping cover on 60 to 65 mph Pulling 242xe Durango is at 100k miles and tows great . Just did a trip from Long Island to Vermont and used some aftermarket screw on tire pressure monitoring system on the boat trailer . It’s very comforting keeping an eye on the tire pressure and temperature .

I used this it looks like its not available but there are many more and when I change tires I would go with the inrenal mount
