I have a 2019 AR210, purchased new July 2019.

In Sept 2021, it appeared the transducer (speed, water temp, depth) went out. Called dealer, parts were unavailable, no idea when they would be. I called every 6 months or so, same story. (also no luck at Partzilla and similar).

In May 2023, my Connext display went dead. Called dealer, same story - no parts on this continent, perhaps not on this planet. Called again in fall 2023, same story. Spring 2024, same story. I quit asking about the transducer, because it's worthless without the display. Eventually I gave up, used the boat in 2024 and 2025 seasons without a working display.

I'm unclear if they every actually "ordered" parts, but each time they said they would call me if the parts became available (FWIW, I didn't really believe this). I did not keep any documentation of my phone calls, and did not send them emails or letters (my bad).

Called dealer last week, they said transducer is available, but still no Connext anywhere (including third party sellers). I called Partzilla, and they said they had one unit in stock. I bought it ($1000), and it's arriving today - Based on other posts on this forum, I got lucky. I plan to take the boat to the dealer for both fixes while they store my boat for the winter.

Finally, my question: Any chance of getting Yamaha to honor their 3-year warranty, at least on the transducer? (BTW, the dealer service manager said Yamaha would sometimes cover a Connext replacement, even beyond the warranty - indicates to me that it's a known problem by Yamaha - but that didn't help when they said parts were unavailable). Any advice on how to approach the dealer and/or Yamaha?

Thanks!

I would hope they would honor the date the repair started, even if it continues beyond the date the warranty expires. But, if you don't have records to prove you contacted the dealer about a given issue before the warranty expired, then I'm not sure how much luck you'll have getting them to cover the repairs.

If you have proof of the failure with Yamaha dealer all should be covered and they should reimburse you for the connext

Your Connext is still available and in stock at many suppliers now

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully the dealer has a record of my calls, but I'm not terribly optimistic.

The dealer warned me that even though a part shows in stock at third parties, that doesn't mean it actually is in stock (and the dealer regularly buys from third parties as well). I just called a couple of third parties out of curiosity, and they both said 1) The part needs to be shipped to them by Yamaha, and then after checking they said 2) Yamaha does not have any stock. Again, I think I got lucky finding the one unit that Partzilla had (and I note that their website still says "in stock"). Maybe it is available elsewhere, but I've got my part, so I'm not going to pursue that any further.

I'll see what the dealer says when I'm there with the boat on Saturday.
