Wire Purchase For Electronics Mods

First I would use an ampacity calculator inputting the distance and amperage to calculate the size of wire needed. I would use the fuse amperage rather than the expected draw to be safe.

This is an example. Wire Size Calculator

You will not be touching or bending these wires a lot. Fancy wires are unlikely to be a good investment. I would use appropriately sized THHN wire. Lowes or Home Depot will carry it by the foot. Your local electrical supply will likely charge less so call a few and ask.

I have three runs of pairs of 8 gauge THHN in my boat. One to a switch panel that I added for a multitude of accessories with a 20 amp fuse. The other two each feed an amplifier with 30 amp fuse. The switch panel wiring has worked well for more than 6 years. The amp circuits have a few years on them.
