Hello everyone. I am looking to buy my first jet boat. I’ve made my mind that I want a yamaha. The AR230 has caught my attention the most. I’ve noticed that not all years of this model come with a privacy console/head compartment for a porta potty. That is something that’s almost a “must have” for my family. Can anyone shed light on which years the AR230 has privacy consoles, and if any other models (24 feet and less) have them, and if so, what years on those as well? Thanks in advance

Steve

I know for sure the 2007 - 09 AR230 models have it. I do not believe they did prior to 2007. The 230 series was replaced by the 240 series beginning in the 2010 model year.

Thanks. So is it safe to assume that every AR230 or 240 model from 2007 to 2020 has one? I know the SX doesn’t, buy what about the S limited?

They ALL come with a head/storage compartment, port side at the helm below the windshield. Whether you put a porta potty in there or not is your decision. We choose not to have a head on the Yamaha, we use the space for storage. It is kind of small for an adult to comfortably fit in there with the porta potty, but others say it is ok for kids. But, if it is an emergency...I am sure anybody will fit in there.

What year is that in the picture?

That is our 07 AR230 HO as pictured in the signature picture above and below, next to the sailboat. If you are on your phone, turn it sideways, landscape, to see signature pics.

We had a head in ours. Kids could get in and out easily. Wife and I could get in fairly easily. Getting out was a bit of a challenge for anyone over about 5' 0". We rarely used it. But it was good for peace of mind and came in handy a few times on long boating days.

What about the size of the head compartment on the 21 foot series? Does anybody have any experience with those?

No real "head compartment" in my 2020 212S - however the amount of storage there is very useful. Coolers and dry bags with snacks fit in there really nice.
