There is a quick connect under the helm that goes forward to the horn. I disconnected that, crimped connectors on the new horn and plugged it in. Easy peasy.

That's good to know. The horn on our 242 is the last bit of foul and filth that I mutter each time I go out. I have replaced the horn and the carling switch and it still will not work. And that is after bench testing each component too! I did get it to chirp one time while yanking on wires under the helm. It sounds like a bad ground. But that helm location is not a fun place to hang out on a hot/humid afternoon. Claustrophobia sets in quick!

Sorry for derailing this thread, still a nice boat. Keep her under 35mph and you will see an amazing dip in fuel consumption. These 24' beasts eat fuel at higher speeds like women go through toilet paper!

As a Newbee to jet boating, keeping it at reasonable speed as you mention is a challenge but I'm sure I'll remember that next time I'm at the fuel pump.
