Fuel Senders for the LS / LX series boats. Mine was for the LS2000 (99')
I spoke to ISSPRO today, they MFG the original fuel sender for the LS2000 boat model. plug n all (12.5" long stem/sender) Spoke to Don in Technical support, he has the exact model for replacement with all the new technology to accommodate the ethanol and fuel additives. I found ISSPRO name and P/N on the sleeve for reference. Plug n play setup. $110.48 + freight. 1-888-447-7776

He informed me failure is due to the newer fuel additives and corrosion properties not present during the time frame of MFG. in 2000' All the new units are up to today's standards. Cheers to them.

If it's a ISSPRO unit, call Don First, they can duplicate all models in house if not in stock. Some members bought the generic version that's 1/2" shorter, that's fine but not reading the exact amount of gas left in tank can be a burden.

Thank you! I just talked to Don and ordered mine. The original part number from mine is 395 035. Don knew exactly what it was and it is on it's way (special 12.5 inch long one just like I have now). He also noted to be aware of the bolt pattern when installing the new one and to line up the notch on the gasket with the notch on the tank and sending unit. He also said to test it before putting it in the tank: Plug the sender in, turn on the key, flip the sender upside down and back again while watching the fuel gauge. Best to make sure it works before putting it in the tank.
After "fixing" the float multiple times I'm looking forward to being able to know my fuel level again!

Hello i am new here but was wondering if the fuel gauge not reading was a common problem with the LS2000 and if it is the sending unit that is to blame? I only ask because mine dose not work and was looking around for an answer to the problem.

Yes it is a common problem with these boats. The old senders had magnets which failed and floats that deteriorated in today's modern fuel. Plus these boats are now getting to be 12 or more years old. It's a pretty easy fix once you order the part from ispro

Dose anyone know if there is a way to check where the problem is before going through the trouble of removing the sending unit?

I believe (but not 100% sure) you can disconnect the wires from the sender and touch them together or just short the connection across the terminals and the fuel gauge should peg to full which would tell you the gauge is ok. Don't forget to turn the keys to the on position first.

Can you help me with the specification you provided to WEMA? They can't match the fuel sender based on the my Yahama part number. I greatly appreciate your help!

Yes. I heard rumors the 12.5 could rub the bottom of the tank when hitting bigger waves. With it being a plastic tank I can believe that. It just gave me the extra clearance.

Your advise is awesome, but I think I lucked out. When I removed the fuel sending unit, I found the magnet (only 1) had fallen out of the float. It fit back in pretty snuggly, but I glued it w/ epoxy anyways. It tested perfectly and I reinstalled it. Hopefully it will last for a while. Thanks for saving me some $'s. I'm sure my marina would have charged for $900 to replace the sender, gauge, etc...as everything they do tends to be $900 (I hate those guys!) Thanks again for your help

That is independent of the gauge and isn't tied into the sender. Sender is a simple 2 wire setup.
