Just dropped my gas cap in the lake. Anyone have any ideas on plugging the hole until the replacement gets here so I can get out on the water?

Same thing happen to me yesterday. Ended up using my cut up pool noodle that I normally keep in my table legs holder to prevent water from pooling. Held up all day yesterday on the water.

I agree with @Monterro the pool noodle is simply the best overall fix for most "rubbin, bumpin & pluggin" issues.

Ps. If you order a new cap from a Yamaha dealer, make sure to order the "gasket" too. When I ordered a spare years ago it was actually two pieces. The cap and gasket.

Thanks for the suggestions and tips!
