I wipe it done with Hot Sauce o n the outside and Vinyl Sauce on the inside after every outing and it keeps the boat looking new. y wife takes the children and gets them bathed and ready for bed. I like to take care of the things I own and don't mind doing it at all. I would say it takes 15-20 minutes max and the boat is spotless.

As last season was out first time with the boat, I mostly cleaned while my wife took care of our 9mo daughter and took stuff inside. I cannot wait till the kids are old enough to clean, that is when I will sit back with a beer and use my light pointer to show spots they missed...

With the salt/brackish water I typically do a full rinse and wash of the boat and salt-away the trailer after every outing. Salt-away flush of the engine as well. Just got a bottle of hot sauce and vinyl sauce that I will start using. Wife has offered to help, but for me it is good 'alone time'. Plus, me telling her how to do things typically doesn't do much good for anyone...

In fresh water, we all empty garbage and "stuff" out of the boat when we get home, then I wipe the boat with Hot Sauce, remove the cleanout plugs, and cover the boat. In Salt water, we all empty the boat, then I run each engine for 20 minutes and give the entire boat a quick wash inside and out, even if going back out the next day. I do not let salt sit on the boat.

I boat in fresh water and keep it at the marina on the trailer. I clean out the inside after every outting and do a very quick cleaning on the outside. The next time I go out I get there an hour before my guests to do a thorough cleaning. I like going out on a clean boat and often the cover leaves a lot of dust.

LMAO!!!! Yes we are talking about the boat. That is too funny and not the first time I assumed everyone was talking about the same thing.

I better edit that right away.
@Zarrella
Jerry is correct usually I am done with it when it gets pulled out ! LOL

My wife does the inside. I actually have assignments for the kids. Pre-launch, docking, retrieving. I drive the truck the wife launches and lands. The kids do trash and wipe down.We have a high profile launch( Orwood resort) they have outdoor dining and some seats face the ramp. People sit there, drink, watch the show, heckle, and sometime have paper plates with 1-10 written on them to judge your launching capabilties. So the wife is always the envy of other ladies that only get to stand by and watch. Remember team work makes the dream work!

@wakeformer It's a boat hull cleaning product, I think (don't quote me on this) that it's a mixture of vinegar, water, wax, good smelling stuff, and probably a few other things good for gel coat. I use it to wipe down the outside of my boat after an outing. You first go around with a water bottle in one hand and hot sauce in the other and spraying water first then hotsauce on the outside of the boat. Then do a wipe down and presto, new looking boat!

When we get home, the wife and kids empty the boat and take care of all that stuff. I flush each engine while I'm washing the boat inside and out. I too am particular and want it done right.

As far as the Hot Sauce, where is the best place to pick some up? @Bruce or @fairpilot ?

I load up the boat and the girls, then drive off while @PEARCE is drenched in sweat cleaning up his beautiful boat. Then a couple hours later when I get home, I do all the cleaning - therapy for me!

Yeah, it's therapy for me too! The rest of the family is chilling in the truck watching a movie.

We wipe the big stuff down every trip. Just bought hot sauce, so hopefully we will get it a little cleaner now, especially because out main lake leaves a lot of good spots on the boat. Dirty water.
We probably wash it 3-4 times a year, but the boat is back in the lake probably 3-4 times a week, so it's kinda overkill to wash every time.
With 3 kids, it's more of a chore to just get them out of the boat and into the car!

I wash after every outing. Regardless of salt or fresh water use. I soak the outside down and then start flushing the engines. In between flushing the first engine and second engine, I rise the boat before flushing the other engine. While the other engine is being flushed, I dry her off, clean up the inside, and spray vinyl sauce on the seats. Monotonous I know, but I like to keep her clean and looking good.

I normally do the wipe down on the inside while I let friends or family do the wipe down on the outside.
X2. This is what we do while still at the ramp.

Wipe everything down with spray bottles of water/vinegar mixture, empty the trash, and get ready to tow home. Its nice to have the crew do it, and they all know what to expect after a day on the lake. The best is when someone new goes out, get back to the ramp, and then they ask where the towels are without telling them of the procedure. That person is invited back every time...

Whole thing takes about 15 mins and looks perfect when pulling back in the driveway. Get compliments constantly of how good boat looks, especially being 8yrs old...

It does get washed once in the beginning of the season, once in the middle, and them again at the end... Waxed in the beginning.
