Dude, seriously you two need to stop the pissing contest.
I have stated before, I am all for a healthy debate, name calling and statements with data to back it up is not this. You guys can decide on our own who is capable of that. I would block him, but my own arrogance will not allow false information to be spread to others.

Much like the Alpine PowerPack, the Kicker PXA line, I think I have seen the Clarion mentioned here. There isn't big power in them yet, but the offerings are enough to do a full system. They have have 500.1 and 300.4 micro amps. I do believe most of these are also marine rated, as they were originally (and still are marketed) for power sports.
Exactly, the market for marine grade micro amps for the SXS market is huge. There is no space, and the need to drive quantities of speakers is not there. So the microamps are perfect for these UTV's and SXS. In fact, the high power head units, and media players with amp are the most popular in that market. I would not use most of them in a boat, but they would work for some folks.

I forgot to mention JL is announcing a new amplifier line this week at KnowledgeFest... Apparently it will be their "marquee" line, and considering they are industry leaders when it comes to new tech - it will be very interesting to see what they have to offer.

Ok, so I have no artistic skills but I do have PowerPoint. Here is what I'm thinking about doing but I have a few questions.

1. The Rockford has a "pass through" RCA connection. Would I be better off hooking the Cerwin Vega amp here or connecting it to the "zone 2" RCA off the M505?
2. I'm assuming I would need a volume control for the tower. Recommendations on what to use here? I seen one that has RCA connections but that could be a pain running RCA from one side of the boat to the other to put the volume control on the driver side.
3. I'm considering installing a blue LED switch that would be used to turn the Cerwin Vega amp on and off. I would not need the tower speakers on unless I was pulling someone so though this could be a way to conserve the battery. Any pitfalls with this?
4. Any general advice on the best way to make this work?

I would run rear RCA outputs to the Cerwin, and turn off fader on the RF. This way if you want to save power or quiet them down, you just fade the speakers to the front. This solves #2 & #3.

If I run the rear to Cerwin, do I then change the bow and the main speakers to run in parallel since I would only have the front channel going through the Fosgate? Just looked up the specs on the Fosgate and I may have been mistaken in my picture. It says it's 75w x 4 at 4 ohms and 100x x 4 at 2 ohms.

No changing the speakers, just remove the Rear RCAs and set the amp to "2-channel" and it should work just fine.

Instead on the switch pony up for a WetSounds WS420 EQ. It allows you to control the volume, bass, mids, highs of each zone and a mic to yell at people through the tower speakers.

I picked up a NOS older version of the Kicker KMTs and I think they are great for the $$.

VXi line... nothing really new... just small footprint amps with a built in DSP. Some stuff to be excited about SQ wise, but for what you were looking for, nothing new.

So - no magical new amp power supply that would make a few hundred Watts while being cell phone sized?

I think I will wait with my re-build. Something new has got to come up!

And mine is really not bad. I don't do sand bars, but my 10 DBs pushed by 2 (very robust) XC1410s plus the powered BassLink sub are plenty for the cockpit. My ICON8s pushed by WS-HT2(?) work perfect for surf distance, and will damage your hearing if you crank them.

My dual battery set up has no issues keeping up with my set up. And I have those power thirsty johnson ballast pumps on top, but I do usually run them while idling to soften the blow (and speed things up).

@RadioWaves I appreciate the offer but I purchased a brand new set off Amazon for $315. They should be here on Saturday. Already received everything else that I needed so if all goes well, I'll be installing them Saturday night.

@swatski Take a look at the amp I mentioned (Cerwin Vega B52 and B54). I just opened the box and pretty surprised at the small form factor.

More new tech coming down the line, again doesn't help you - but this very well may be the future. I personally think amplifiers have maxed out, they are so small and so efficient, anything much further is a marginal gain. I actually gave this some thought and realized I could double the power to all my speakers and take up less space using PXA amps.

Wow. That is freaking awesome.

I would think in my yammie that new tech could be put to great use to CANCEL sound of the large sound box - AKA the FRP hull.
