Stern "beaching" setups

With this being my first jet boat, I am going to start looking at backing into the beach instead of driving up on it. I plan to drop an anchor coming into the beach and then rotate the boat and back into where I want. But, what do you guys use to secure the back? Rear anchor? Two lines at 45 degrees off the rear corners of the boat up to the beach? Anchor pole?

Just curious what everyone is using and what has worked best for y'all! Thanks!

Small box anchor off the bow and a single sand spike off the stern.

We use two basic cheap anchors. One in the front about 2 or 3x the distance from where we going to be set. Back it up to about waist deep water and walk out the rear anchor to the beach/water and manually set it. What side I tie them on depends on the current... I do them on the opposite side of the current direction... that way the boat has already shifted.

With that being said, I found the stock steering to very troubling in reverse. For backing in. If you do not have a steering add on, I would recommend it, I can back into much tighter spacers and am much more confident of not hitting someone now. Before I would look for the widest opening, now I just look for an opening wide enough for the boat to fit.

We anchor at a beach every weekend. Depending on current/wind, sometimes I'm stern towards beach, sometimes bow. I typically just use my danforth off the bow, with 2 anchors you are locked in place. Our beach is a little tight sometimes so its best that all boats move with the current together or we could hit. I have a homemade auger anchor that i use if the anchor just won't set that day.

When anchoring at the sandbar and cant swing. I use the stock anchor off the bow and 8# Danforth in the back with 4 FT of 3/8 chain I tie a small red ball style fender on the anchor so no one steps on it. I like the heavy chain since it is in shallow water and helps to keep the anchor set with so little line out.

I have also thought about using one of the pole style set ups those seem to work well in sheltered areas.

I use a small box anchor off the bow and a shore spike when needed off the stern. When anchoring stern in, and it's a little rough, make sure you're deep enough so those "expensive bits" back there don't hit the bottom.

If it is shallower than about 2 feet and there is any gravel at the bottom, I would always pull the boat/stern away into deeper water BEFORE starting the engines.
It only takes about one nanosecond to ruin an impeller with sucked-in gravel.

To add to this - I unhook the rear anchor and pull the boat into deeper water by pulling the front anchor rope, once I am close to the front anchor, I then start the boat.

x2 on the small Box Anchor and Slide Anchor/shore spike. The party end of these boats is at stern, so placing the party end near the shoreline is the way to go. I also use a Danik Hook on the spike to easily let line in our out as needed based on the tide change.

Let out 5x's your depth in rode from the bow, back up slowly, set the anchor and kill the engines. Jump off the stern walk to the beach and hammer in your shore spike and tie to the stern cleat. When ready to leave remove line from shore spike, remove shore spike, hop in boat (don't forget to pull and secure the ladder) go to bow and pull the boat out to the anchor. Start your engines and finish pulling in the anchor.

I have that one due to arrive from amazon tomorrow. Had been using an old Danforth for the stern and mantus for the bow. The spike seems like it’ll be a little easier/quicker.

To add to this - I unhook the rear anchor and pull the boat into deeper water by pulling the front anchor rope, once I am close to the front anchor, I then start the boat.

I use one of those anchor bungee lines on the bow anchor. By adjusting the tension on the stern line you can keep the boat right where you want it, easy to move the boat in and out depending on what the kids are doing.

If we are going off on a walk I have been letting the boat out to deep water by moving the stern anchor. With the spike I’ll be able to adjust the line on shore or the boat.

When it’s time to go I pull the stern anchor, jump in the boat as the bungee pulls us to deep water. Wife starts the engines and I pull the anchor up...off we go drama free.

The large one from bass pro because I beach on the Gulf with waves/current so I wanted the extra weight.
