That's beautiful. Glad someone asked, never would have thought.
Thanks for sharing, that is incredibly touching. --
I told my wife I was going to name the boat "Stinky Old Lady" after her, which she did not like of course. But she thought I was serious. In fact, this is what I told everyone. I ordered the graphics for "September Dawn" without telling anyone about it, put them on the boat, and told her to come take a look. Thinking it was "Stinky Old Lady" she didn't want to even look. Then she saw it. Waterfalls ...

Anyway, I still call my wife stinky for fun.

I ran the boat today.

- The tabs definitely help the boat get on plane faster and at a lower RPM. I can also stay on plane at a lower speed. I won't have it in larger seas until tomorrow. I will provide feedback on that later.

- The boat with no steering system (Cobra or JBP) has some bow wander at low speeds. With either the JBP or Cobras the bow wander was reduced. With the trim tabs and the JBP fins there is ZERO bow wander. Straight as a damn arrow.

- I only did limited testing on this as it was just me on the boat, but I did notice the ALS automatically correcting the list if I moved to one side of the boat.

- The ALS does automatically deploy the tabs during the hole shot. Once on plane they retract and level the ride.

- The tabs automatically retract when you shut the engine down. (I did the optional ignition sensor wiring.)

I do everything myself because I know I will do it correctly. You are not far away. I could help you measure for them and install them.

Sorry @swatski, this one went over my head, what did I miss?
Sorry, inside joke. Ever heard of a towel wrench? Me either!
Until, when in Bimini, @Rob9550 has taught me a secret Army technique of using “towel wrench” - to tighten a hand-wheel bolt without any tools on hand (the AR240 tower...)

Rob is the guy you want, when in a bind!

@Foobar Thanks for the post on the tabs, like I needed more to add to my boat. I'm trading in my 190 FSH for the 210 FSH from Cycle Springs. I was struggling with the Scarab 255 Open ID, but after a bit of research, the FSH is the better choice for the money and your input helped as well. I was reading some of the details on the Lectrotab site and they indicated that the tabs automatically retracted off plane. Your experience indicates that with thrust vectors and tabs, there was no bow wander. Is there an override for this or can you provide some more detail? I'm new to the site but have owned my 190 for a couple of years and idle speed steering has always been a problem.

I have the auto leveling system, which can be disabled so it can be controlled manually. I do believe they are deployed while off plane in the configuration I am using, which is with the ignition sensor. I have not dived under the boat to check while it is running :p You can hear them fully retract when the engines are turned off.

Am I understanding correctly, that you added trim tabs? I just bought the 2018 FSH Sport and I didn't think any of the FSH boats come with tabs.
Also, I've seen your posts and you seem to have a lot of jetboat knowledge. I want to add a GPS/Fishfinder. Where's the best place for the transducer?

I am new to jet boats, but I am OCD so I do a lot of research. I am by no means an expert.

I added the tabs aftermarket.

I went with a thru-hull transducer. The one you drill a 2 inch hole in the bottom of the boat. I didn't like the idea of a transducer hanging off the back. In the aft starboard side of the keel you can see the factory speedo. (round, black, has a spinny wheel on it) I drilled and mounted by transducer on the opposite side of the keel (port) in the same spot. It works very well at any speed. However, with this type of transducer you loose the "picture" type down imaging. (The gold looking one.) Everything else works really well. I used the Airmar P19 which is 200/77 khz. Both work well.

My ALC works great. Sounds like his port and starboard wires are reversed.

I experienced noticeable improvement in ride quality in pretty heavy chop. This weekend I’m going to do some specific testing of the ALC.

Hey Jerry, do you know which model number Lectrotab you installed, I have a local dealer her in SF but they have several models and sizes, want to get the same ones you installed since you have had great success with them. Thanks,
