New Bern, NC to Beaufort, NC day trip September 8, 2018 (Cancelled)

So thinking about joining this but proably going to boat from Myrtle Beach up to Beaufort. Is there a descent ramp in Beaufort I can drop my truck and trailer off at the night before so I only have to boat one way up to Beaufort. Do you guys expect to be in that shackleford area for a while at a beach as I would probably just catch up with you guys ther ebut I don't expect I would get there till somewhere in the 12-2 range.

Due to the glow party in new bern there r no hotel rooms.. What does the group think about putting in at Beaufort and spending the night there. @Eric Ballard has done this and has the hotel name with dockage boat launch and a safe place to park.

You talking about staying in beaufort and boating to new bern and back to Beaufort?

Nah.. I think Beaufort and still going to shakleford or cape lookout and hang out for the day... Adams creek is nice but the neuse river is just a river. . I think the beach would be more fun.

Well if that becomes the plan I’m in. I’m going to boat from Myrtle Beach to Beaufort though. @Andy S and @Ramblin Wreck Incase your interested this will be another stretch of my loop trip.

I'm interested but I have to work that weekend so I'm out this time.

I have to work a football game that friday night so if we can narrow down a place we would prob stay sat night and take the boat out Sunday and come home.. Not sure if we would go down late friday night or early sat... I may call that hotel tomorrow and see if they have any rooms. @robert843 u gonna stay the night in Beaufort?

Probably Saturday night I would drag my truck and trailer up Friday night and leave it up there somewhere and boat up Saturday hang out Saturday and pull my boat from Beaufort back to Myrtle Beach on Sunday

I sold all my skis last year so right now I'm planning on the boat. I did how ever make an offer to buy a ski this morning so it that could change.

I'm down for hanging out around Shakleford Banks and/or making the trip to the lighthouse.

Soo.. I think we r out for this trip. Several unexpected expenses have come up that have taken our normal boating budget and chewed it up like a fresh doughnut!

There isn't much talk about this trip anyway with it being 4 weeks away.

I agree. After the curve ball with the other event going on in new bern and lack of hotels it kind of sunk this ship (no pun intended). I say we cancel it all around and try and reschedule another time.
