2013 - 242 Forward / Reverse cable very off.

Just picked up a 2013 242 Limited S. The port side when in forward is significantly blocking the flow. The cable is threaded all the way in for adjustment.

I searched and could not find anything. Do not mind the off brand fins that are on there... Going to order new ones.

Wrong length, "off brand" cable? How is the adjustment at the other end? SeaStar / Teleflex Steering Systems and Cables Should be an 18' cable.

I have not pulled the helm section apart yet. From what I could tell by some searches is that there is not adjustment on the control side. Is that not the case?

Get some more pictures of the cable in question near the threads to further show us the adjustment on it, and then take a pic of the normal nozzle too.

Open up the clean out tray and open the accesses to see under the tray where you can maybe look down at the condition of the cables too, you’ll need a flashlight. Are the throttles hard to put in forward or reverse detents at all?

I know when I replaced mine, they were adjustable at both ends. There are terminals that screw on and lock with the nut.

I did see there is adjustment at the throttle. I will have to take that apart to look. Although, it seems more likely this is too long of a cable. Here are photos of it at neutral compared to the starboard side.

I had read that one too, thank you!

Mine is so far off. I just adjusted at the throttle and it moved it a little bit but no where near enough. This is the difference at WOT. It must be teh wrong cable. I will order an OEM to be safe.

Definitely the wrong cable. I have seen this before with aftermarket cables. You really need to match then up side by side
