Start for the season. Both engines started with left throttle working fine. Right throttle did not work. Got and engine control error and diagnostic error of 166.

Any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks.

You have an e series boat make sure there is nothing jamming the reverse bucket. Even small debris can cause errors. Grab the bucket and shake the crap out of it ot wack it with a rubber mallet
If you dont have one get a complete service manual

And to add onto Neutrons post above, whats your battery voltage? Do you keep them on a smart charger or made sure they were charged completely before beginning the season? Low voltage can cause gremlins in the E series boats.

Thanks. Checked the bucket. Not an issue. I do have the manual but not very helpful for troubleshooting.

Batteries are fine, on a charger. One side works fine, other doesn't.

Almost every problem associated with the 166 code has to do with a low voltage/ ground problem or a jammed bucket. If one engine is fine then you need to isolate all the wiring and connections that have to do with voltage and grounds for that engine and test the wiring, connectors, and components. Thats what your manual is for. It has test procedures for individual components and a wiring schematic. If you dont understand how to do it then bring to a good shop that can.

You have posted before about corosion issues with your steering cables and transom plate. Had to replace the intermediate bearing so there is another reason to check connections. And nake sure that anything you touched in the process of doing those repairs didn't cause this
