Wave Armor Power Launch - solar help!

Hi everyone! I've finally received my Wave Armor Pro 8 boat port!! Now, I need to power the power launch part of it.

I've decided on LifePo4 (needs to be 12v 7.5-15AH) but I can't seem to figure out the best way to charge it? I'm new to solar and it's a bit confusing in terms of charge controllers etc...

Basically, the battery sits inside the power launch, but the charging pieces (panel, controller etc...) would need to be weatherproof.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I use mine to charge the on-board batteries by placing it in my Monster Tower Wake Board Rack, for your Wave Armor Pro 8 boat port you would need to rig up a mount which would be pretty simple.

Hi! I know this isn't a solar forum, but you seem to know what you're talking about. I bought a similar product to the one you recommended, but I'm stumped on how to wire the load (power launch motor) and the MPPT controller? I've attached some pictures. From what I can find online, it looks like I can just wire the load and controller together to the battery?

Any help would be appreciated!

What is the current draw of the power launch motor when running?

I ask because that battery looks awfully small, also the charge controller does not show LifePo4 (maybe it does on the bottom?)

Anyway with the setup you show in the pictures the load would be connected in parallel with the charge controller

If it were me I would install a momentary DPDT Switch which would run the motor will simultaneously disconnecting the charge controller

The instructions call for a 7.5-15ah lifepo4 battery. I'm not sure on the power draw.

So for the connection, I can put both positives together in one spade connector and same with the negative? I like the idea of a switch...

All negatives to the battery negative
Motor switch to accessory 1 of DPDT switch
Battery to battery positive
Solar charger to accessory 2 of the DPDT switch



Switch up, power supplied to motor
Switch Down, solar charger to battery

This way the solar charger is isolated when using the motor
