Is Afghanistan the next Failed State?

I was thinking about this last night, I can't imaging what the afghan citizens, who just want to go about their daily lives (probably 99% of the country), are feeling. Like a real life red dawn, except they Afghanis don't have Patrick Swayze.

Is Afghanistan the next Failed State?

my thoughts are with our men and women who spent time over there. We also sent a few thousand troops from Ft Bragg the other day (to Afghanistan). Prayers go out to them, come home safe! Lastly, prayers for the men and women of Afghanistan who are stuck in this nonsense. Those scenes of...

    Removing a bees nest

So I think I have a small nest or something inside of my wake tower. I see wasps entering from the bottom of the tower, the fold hinge area. Any ideas on the best way to get rid of them? I'm thinking 1. Some sort of gas so it gets where it needs to get to. Problem is my boat is wetslipped, I...

    Check your trailer bunk boards!!

trailer maintenance is so easy to overlook. You buy a boat and off you go, very little discussion about the trailer. The suspension on mine is rusted, not sure about the brake pads, actually not sure about the entire surge brake system. Looking at the bunks, they appear to be in good...

    Emptying the ballast.

I've been in the settings screen, I pressed drain all etc. I also went through the calibration of the bag (but started out with water so that might be off). I'll press drain a few more times and see if I can empty that way, otherwise, it's open the plug.

    Shrinkwrap or Yamaha Cover?

Shrink wrap here as well, we get ~100 inches of snow a year. Last winter a "ice dam" tore the gutter off the rear of the house, that's the kind of fun winters we have. Shrink wrap with a zipper door, now that sounds perfect, than I can get some work done during the winter.... Cost, I believe...

Bad trip to the boat launch!

Watch boating videos (failures) online and you'll see this is a common occurrence. I still don't get what the problem is, are MOST of these fails because of leaving the truck in gear? Even that's hard to believe because you would notice as soon as you exited the vehicle and it started moving...

242 Limited- big drop in speed over 2 weeks

A dirty hull was the culprit of my speed loss a while ago (I thought it was mechanical). I wet slip as well and I'm happy with 30ish by the end of the season. I don't know how to calculate the the loss of MPGs during the season due to dragging a carpet around, probably substantial! The only...

    Bias ply to radial

Final results, two tips. 1. Etching primer, without that, this entire process doesn't work. 2. Lug nuts were actually 1/2" thread -20 (20 threads per inch. I decided against the tuner lug nuts you'll see at your local parts store. I went with chrome Dorman lug nuts which were $2.99 each...

    Bias ply to radial

I didn't get the tire sensors but I do think they look a lot better than they did. Not the greatest pic, I'll get better ones once I get my black lug nuts. The key was the etching primer, thanks for the person who mentioned that. I did one wheel without etching and it looks completely...

    Emptying the ballast.

I believe the skip locker has its own pump. Maybe I'll pull the plug and just let it drain into the locker? If I can empty the bag, I guess connext will be caught up (thinking the bag is empty). I do get a warning that I have to have a valve open before using ballast. I assume the value is...

    Emptying the ballast.

My center ballast is about 60% full and I cannot seem to empty it. In the connext screen all three ballast are listed as empty, clicking drain does nothing. to try to resolve the issue I filled all three ballast to 100% and then selected drain all. After a bit of time, the back two are...

    Bias ply to radial

I just picked up some etched primer as well as more matt black. I have all the wheels without tires, although the left the balance weights that come from the factory on the wheel, pain in the ass to get off. I'll post the results of the wheel painting once I'm done, might look like crap. That...

Anybody else get griped at in No Wake Mode?

especially the waves we produce at 4-6 mph. Until we come through at 10.8mph with 1000lbs ballast on the surf side you have nothing to complain about. A small wind should produce ripples equivalent to our boats, at least in the larger lakes I frequent. The house boats at my marina actually...

    Tow Vehicle Front Brakes

good timing, I am also looking at brakes. I was looking at EDC stuff, someone mentioned green stuff here. I could get the yellow kit (pads and rotors, stage 9 or some crap) for ~$900. I have a 2018 ford f150 so the rotors are probably in decent shape, although yesterday while highway driving...

    Underwater lights are illegal?

Funny you mention florida, the guy I talked to lives in rochester during the summer and ft lauderdale during the winter. He said they don't say anything about his lights in FL, rochester, different story.
