    Communication Error: Check Keypad CAN

Both batteries are new and stay on a trickle charger. Took my 2018 242x to the dealership and they said it was throwing SCU codes 166, 184, & 191. They were able to clear codes 184 and 191 but not 166. They could not get the fault to replicate and said it was throwing a “ghost code”. Does anyone...

If you haven't run your Yamaha dry of fuel, here's how it goes....

All I have time for now is the Bottom-line: (And yes, I know this (now ;-) ) Fuel level at idle is ~7% less than when on plane. (most of us have noted this...but the rest you work to avoid from learning.) So I thought I'd share the lesson, having recently learned it: There is a fuel gauge...

First Ballast Fill for '16 242X...how?

Life long boater but first with ballast- Have had the X for a few months now and on the water a half dozen times, but have yet to have the time/crew to surf. Twice I've played with it on the water when I had a few minutes but have yet to move any water- Can see the ballast thru hull value in the...

Modifications to 2016, 242X (Thinking about Bimini...)

First, bunch of buddies that put up with my need to always get on the water (varying boats) and I put up with their need to fish. Very happy friendship. Fishing on Bimini is certainly a serious possibility, but this mod accelerated itself on the priority list as a buddy was moving out of state...

Items in Bilge of new boats ('16, 242x, this case)

Fairly common in new boats and good reason for full bilge flush early in boats production life. Particularly bad for boats w/ bilge pumps in actual bilge (unlike Yamahas) as these metal remnants would eat a bilge pump. Nut would concern me if the nylon had threading marks. This one does not...

    My 2016 Yamaha 242X thread....(MORE photos added 6/14/19)

As many of you know I've sold my 2005 SX230 and am now awaiting the arrival of a Blue 2016 Yamaha 242X! It should arrive in the next couple of weeks (3 at the outside). What I've bought already for her or to install: Xintek Fume Detector with blower control - my favorite safety mod 60" CE...

242X Audible Alarm Underway with No Visual Clues (Connext or otherwise)????

After a day of a lot of shallow water fishing (muddy bottom) and low speed (Idle) activity, got a loud audible alarm as we were heading back to the ramp (at speed). Clicked through every screen of the Connext System to get an indication of the cause. -Not Depth, Fuel, Voltage,.... As I was...

Cargo net on port side of 242

New boat owner here...I know this may sound crazy. Just got boat and really didn't have a lot of time to mess with it. But does anyone have any pictures of how the little cargo net for ice holder or trash can is installed. Sure didn't look like it would fit. Im sure its just the way I tried to...
