Does anybody have another source for this item? Part #1. Yamaha Sports Plaza has a part number but no price. Since the boat was new 10 years ago, the rubber has receded 4- 5" from the end of the channel it seals. Looking for a source so I can replace it. I am pretty sure it is an item used by other manufactures to seal the windshield trim.

I may have found a source on the interweb, https://www.fpmarine.com/Misc-General-plastic-rubber-s/43.htm, but now I am going to have to drive over to the boat at the marina to look at the profile before I order it, could be expensive by the prices shown, unless someone here knows what it looks like. Thank You.

@zipper please update us as I am also facing the same issue.

@buckbuck @Scottintexas I will do, I will get out to the boat when it stops raining in a couple days. I just don't know exactly what the profile looks like or the exact measurements.

I went out to the boat to measure width and verify the profile yesterday, took a couple of pics. for reference.20170909_180242.jpg 7/8" wide20170909_180501.jpgI woke up last night at 2:30, could not sleep thinking of friends and family in Fla. in Irma's path, went searching on line and found this match to the windshield screw cover. I will order tomorrow as soon as I go back to measure L.F., forgot, unless someone has a tape measure and their boat handy. I will order, install and let you know how it fits.Screen shot 2017-09-10 at 12.32.02 PM.png

Let us know how it works

Thanks @zipper I look forward to your perspective on the installation.

Subscribed. I have the same issue. Does the rubber actually shrink?

Yes, I believe it shrinks over time. 80 degs. today, lower temps. later in the year will make it worse. I ordered 20 ft. yesterday, due here Fri. I cannot believe its not available from Yamaha parts...The screw cover was not cheap IMO but I dislike seeing the screws more.

The windshield screw cover came yesterday. 20170918_160345.jpg It is a perfect match for the Yamaha original cover which had shrunk as seen above. Side by side they match20170919_141434.jpg Of the 20' I ordered, I used all but 13". That included the strip at the bottom of the windshield "door" which had not shrunk, but did look weathered compared to the new rubber.20170919_142748_001.jpg20170919_144759.jpg20170919_145142.jpg 20170919_145738.jpg 20170919_163957_001.jpg You can see it looks much better than the pictures in my previous post. Great Lakes Skipper has a lot of hard to find stuff. I am happy with the fit and it is good to know that Yamaha used the same Taylor Made products that other manufactures use, in this case Larson.

Congratulations @zipper you just got me to open my wallet.

How did the install go? Anything of note? Any frustrations?

Absolutely none, install was quick. I do have snaps along the windshield track for my cockpit cover, so there is a little more effort, no frustrations all smiles. I just used a razor knife to cut as needed, angle at back of windshield and final length cut at bow. Just set the bottom edge into channel and push on top edge to seat it, or visa versa, and work your way along until done. Took me about 20 mins. to complete.

Great find @zipper Thanks a lot for posting.

@itsdgm You are welcome. I guess that there will be a spike in sales of this product at Great Lakes Skipper. I also saw it for $2.61/ft. on ebay.

Thank you for this thread! :)

@Skipper did 20’ replace both sides or just the starboard side that was short (plus the middle window)? Thinking if I’m going to replace once side might as well do both.

@Trevor Shipman zipper not skipper, but I got the notification anyway all good. 20 ft. did the whole windshield, as the only piece that did not shrink from both ends was the windshield door, but I replaced anyway. I do not know if you have the same windshield, I mean total length on your 21' AR. I would put a tape measure on it to confirm length, you may need less.

Hah! Thanks for catching! I was clearly thinking of the website.

I’ll put the order in for 20’ unfortunately the boat is hibernating for now. Great post and thanks for following up!
