Once you have it out, you will need this Rebuilding Clean Out Plugs.

As a short term solution you may find yourself using the end of a 2x4 as a hammer to seat the plug until you have parts to complete the repair. Parts were backordered when I bought my SX230 last year so I used a 2x4 for a month or so.

@Bruce , is the part # you have listed on the above link ,for ordering thru yamaha or will that work for a 3rd party supplier..

The part number will work anywhere that sells Yamaha parts. As far as I know the official part is the only one available. It is listed as a 2012 and newer part but it works will all of the snap in clean out plugs. I googled the part number and ordered from whoever had the lowest price. I have rebuilt the plugs on a 2005 LX210 and a 2007 SX230.

Thanks, I thought about that after I posted the question, that it would only be available thru mother yamaha ...

You got the port plug out, right Dan?

Yes Sir I did, it was a bitch but it came out with some muscle.
Not our LS then....... We had screw out plugs, and although they can't blow out, they had their own issues...

I think I saw on here somewhere that the screw out type stopped in 98 or 99, not sure which..

Our 2000 LS still had them...... a little more work, but WAY more secure.....

OK Dan, I figure that my old barge will have a hard time keeping up with you now, so I went and got a ski:
