Just bought a Yamaha Ar195. When pulling a skier out it seems to cavitate between 6000 to 7000rpm. Has anyone else experienced this. When the boat is cruising it gos up to 7000 rpm without a problem. The cavitation only occurs when accelerating from a dead stop

If this just started to occur you may have some fishing line or other trash wrapped on your drive shaft, or you ingested something in the pump that damaged the leading edges of your impeller a close look under the boat inside the pump should shed some light on the problem

I would say this is normal if I am understanding what you are saying.
