2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

You must have been haulin' @$$!
Between having to stop for gas every 200 miles, stopping at weigh stations, and driving 65mph, I usually average only 50mph. It seems you did a lot better than that.

Did you think he was going to slow down because it was raining ? He does not even slow down on a storm with a broken windshield. He is July guy, the June trip is a fluke.

You must have been haulin' @$$! It's exhausting, isn't it?

Going like a bat out of hell @Berrie. Started at 3:30 am in the morning and hauling ass at 70 mph , taking turns with my friend non stop. Slept for 2 hrs in a rest area. Other times is in the truck backseat.

It was raining in Virginia all night yesterday night and will continue the next couple of days. As soon as possible cross Virginia.
That's the plan, Funny thing is, as soon as we stopped for the night, it stopped raining. Gotta say, coming down 81 instead of 95 has been refreshing as the views are amazing and traffic is minimal, even during rush hour. Up and down mountains has chewed through fuel a bit more than the flatter 95 would have, but I'm still getting 15.9 mpg out of the ecodiesel and also still haven't used any noticeable amount of DEF. Also. the 2018 Cover I picked up from my dealer has performed way beyond expectations and towing with the tower down and covered is definitely the way to go on long hauls. Super, super happy so far.

I think I have decided not to haul extra gas on the back of my ski. I’d rather bring my better cooler. Previously, I made it over on a rough 6 hour trip on 13.3 gallons and back on about 9 gallons in 2.5 hours. I’m not really concerned about needing the extra gas during the trip and I’ve already budgeted for a tank of gas a day, minimum. I have 2 x 2.5 gal rotopax containers, but I have to fabricate the holding plates to fit my rack, and that’s not going to be done for this trip.

Praying for clear weather and smooth water... safe travels to those that are crossing! Take a shit load of photos for me to be jellying over

Well at a random stop at a truck stop I saw some guy husseling dvd’s of an adult nature to the stopped truckers for the night it turned out to be @veedubtek after berating him for being a pansy for trying to stop in savanah at 11pm at night he found his balls and decided to follow me to Jacksonville instead. Florida should probably let out some kind of warning that the two of us are here at the same time.

Finally parked at Harbor Towne Marina after a marathon 24 hours.

I thought I felt a disturbance in the force here in Jax last night...now I know what it was! LOL

Is there any place in ft Lauderdale or Miami that can make stickers tomorrow ? I need boat lettering for mine and my friends boat. Simple lettering will do. This is for identifying for customs and coast guard. Thanks.
You want the color of the letters to be black or are they going on a black hull?

I am so envious right now. My job has been shit and a vacation in the Bahamas would be amazing right about now!

Safe travels, calm seas and smooth crossing y'all!

I agree this trip can be done easily with out extra fuel on a ski but I would always caution people that to remember that means straight there no trying to help other boats out or goofing off as there is no back up. In 2015 @Andy S and I almost ran out of fuel on the skis and we did have extra fuel and still made it in on fumes. We were assisting other boats and making sure a few others got in safely but in that process neglected out own fuel situation to assist others it was close even with the extra 5 gallons we brought.

Black letters Valerie. Thanks.

Last year I was beeping for what seemed to be an eternity
I wasn’t scared but I was nervous as hell
I didn’t want say anything because the boats were taking such a beating and although I had an extra 10 gallons in the back, I’m not sure I could have transferred fuel without help.
I made a decision to slow down and not radio for help until my ski stopped. I made it to the sands though......
I also like to have the extra fuel incase there is a shortage on the island while we are there

On the plus side, I've got a bunch of extra DVD's for the West Palm party this evening. (Minus the "special interest" category, Rob bought all of those).

You know you can press a button and silence the beep, right? Apparently I never told my wife that and she went about 10 miles with it screaming at her on the Hilton Head trip this year.
