2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

Have fun and safe crossing, everyone. I have a question that is probably best as it's own post but I just sold my 2013 SX190 and I'm looking at a 2015 AR240 - one of the reasons for upgrading is to make Bimini an annual trip.

My question is the 21ft vs the 24ft boats and how they handle rough water or a crossing like last year. Does the extra three feet and weight make a huge difference? Specifically the newer boats with the articulating keel since that's what I'm eyeing. Any advice is greatly appreciated since I'm looking to pick one up ASAP - thanks in advance!

How fast are you planning to go?

So, who has the blue AR240 and white GMC from Conneticut? We played leap frog with you today from Fayetteville NC all the way to Palm Beach FL.

Sounds like probably @Bryan Martini

In 2015 I was the only one to have any fuel left on our approach into Bimini and I gave it away.

I remember seeing your group arrive in N. Bimini in 2015. We felt so bad for all of you.

Just got into hotel in Jacksonville, should make West Palm by tomorrow

I'm just north of you in Kingsland, GA. My goal is to be at the ramp around 1 pm. Maybe you'll pass me on the highway again like you did today.

We just have to make it to the Motel 6 and the Publix tomorrow. We'll launch sometime in the evening I guess, as long as we can tie up at Harbor Towne overnight. Otherwise we'll launch Sunday morning.

I would wait to Sunday to launch. The rest of my crew should be at the ramp Sunday morning between 9 and 9:30am, we plan on leaving shortly after that. Saturday night I'll be at the bahia mar and boat over in the morning.

So I keep hearing about this lake out in the ocean right but this is video from today don't get me wrong I will take this all day long but this isn't that lake I was hoping to see.

We're just under an hour away from West Palm ourselves. It's been a good day. Started with a couple hours of work, couple hours of grass cutting, then packed for Bimini, reserved my hotel for the evening, and then got on the road this afternoon. For the most part it has been a traffic free, rain free ride. Looking forward to the crossing!

Are fireworks allowed in Bimini ? If they are allowed I want to get some fireworks for the kids to have fun with one night.

The Perfect Storm is on AMC. It is the perfect precrossing movie. Hope you guys are watching!

It comes on again at 06:30 for anyone who misses tonight’s showing.
