Hi,
I have a 2019 Yamaha 212x with a strange problem. We put the boat on the water today and first noticed that the map was stuck where we last boated a few weeks ago. The compass won’t move off of North and the speedometer is showing only two dashes and won’t change no matter the speed.

Any ideas?

Probably just a glitch - if you can operate the display, try going to the Setting screen options and select Reset to do a factory reset. If you can't use the screen at all, then disconnect the batteries to restart the system.

Thanks, I disconnected both batteries and did the factory reset and the problem persists. Starting to wonder if it’s the GPS module since it’s NAV, compass, and speed.

I have the same problem with my 2019 212 Limited S.

Keep me posted. My dealer is thinking the Connext will need replaced, as when they called Yamaha they had no fix to offer.

Take care!
Mike

Houston, I think we have a problem. Our 2019 212 Limited is stuck on the logo screen after only one week of ownership and the dealer has troubleshooted everything. Yamaha has no replacement connext screens available yet. The dealer is trying to get them to pull one off the line but I'm guessing that's not going to happen either. Hope that boat from Japan travels fast.

Not what I wanted to here, as mine has the same problem.

Great news! The service dept at the dealership contacted us today and said Yamaha is sending us a new screen today! Should have it in a week!

Were you all still able to boat without the screen temporarily? I dont like reading this

Does anyone have any updates to this issue? We have a 2020 242SE with 60 hours and just had the same thing happen.

Is Yamaha replacing the Connex screens or ?

Thanks in advance.

Just picked-up my 2022 Yamaha 212 (non-tower) a couple of weeks ago. I didn't notice any electronic issues on the first outing, which was a couple of hours of slow boating to break-in the engines. During the second outing, I noticed that the speedometer, GPS, and compass would intermittently stop working (speedometer reading "--" and GPS and compass frozen in previous location). It'd work for a few minutes, stop working for a few minutes, and so on over the course of an hour or so. The boat operates fine otherwise, when these electronics stop working. Wondering if it's just a loose electrical connection - maybe hitting waves is knocking a loose wire connection in and out. I'll go behind the dash and make sure wires and harnesses are securely in place. I also plan to call my dealer and see if they/Yamaha have any suggestions - don't want to have to bring to dealer to get fixed.

Has anyone been able to fix this problem. I have the same one on my 2020 242X with only 18 hrs on it. I fiddled with all the GPS wires but it is still not working.
