New to jet boating and bought a 2008 Harbourcraft with a 2 Stroke Oil Injected Mercury 240 EFI. I would like to winterize it myself but it's difficult to find exact information online. The boat has a heater for passengers so the lines will also need to be flushed. Any advice or direction to information would be appreciated.

The Mercury SportJet 340EFI has oil in the pump and stator that should be changed annually. If for any other reason than to be sure no water has gotten in there. If you are in a cold climate, water would allow it to freeze and cause damage.

Other than that, 2-strokes should be fogged by spraying fogging oil down the cylinders through the spark plug holes and turned over, with no wires attached. Of course, you want to stabilize the fuel prior to this, and run it through the entire system.

The Merc Sportjet service manual will detail the stator and pump oil service. I used to frequent the Seadoo Forum, and they had mercury section. Details are there as well.

Good luck!
