255XD horrible speed control for wake surfing, this is acceptable?

I haven’t read this whole thread but a lot of people use the ridesteady speed control to help dial in their speed better than what Yamaha system provides.
ridesteady will only work on the earlier boats. The connext system boats all but force you to use what they already have.

Well that sucks.

Ridesteady will work with new Connext boats, but none of the "E-series" models. This is the compatibility list:

Yamaha Jet Boats (single and twin engine) with APS (Accelerator Position Sensor) on wall next to engine:

2006-current AR210, SX210, SR210

2010-current AR240, SX240, 242 Limited

2012-current AR190, SX190, 212SS, 212X

2013-current AR192, SX192

2017-current AR195, SX195, 212 Limited, 190FSH

2018-current 210FSH

2021-current AR250, SX250, 252S, 252FSH, 212S, 212, 195S

nice lil trick in the anchor locker. Ill have to get a cork to use.

Ive found that the more weight the issue gets worse also. If they would give you complete manual control "up" until you hit or near the target speed say 1 mph it would prob help greatly. I still need to seal my pump tunnels and few other tricks to see if i can improve the thrust at surf speeds and hull angle.
Aloha!
Can you share info on how to seal pump tunnels and any other rricks you have? Have you done them? Did it work? I know most of you have winterized your boats already! Here in HI we still trying to figure out that wave on the flat days!!!

I haven't done the tunnels yet, spring time I will. U just wanna make sure the sealant that is in there for the gaps is done nice and smooth. Any ridges in the pump tunnel creates disturbance in the water, which can lead to cavitation. There's a thread on here that a few did.

Sorry, the 2021-current FSH252 model is also compatible. Thanks to a potential customer for reaching out!

22’ 255XD. Still having problem. Ballast set 75 100 100. I dont think I’ve ever gone out with less than 8 people; I have them spread out pretty evenly. I’ve got a big family and not going to leave anybody behind, so that’s going to be a constant. Nozzels are good.
I really think the only solution is a software fix/hack to increase speed a little bit

Yeah software fix is needed I think. Not sure we will ever get one though. Even with fewer people in the boat I find I have to bump the speed up beyond my setting then bring it back down when surfing.
