I am getting ready to book a house on anna Maria with a dock but it's on a canal after you go through Bimini Bay. Question, is it no wake all the way through Bimini Bay and if so how long does it take to get through there to open water?

@newbote - You may have better luck checking the User Map above and starting a direct conversation with the owners that live near that area.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but how do you put yourself in the map area? I've looked all over and can't figure out how to do I. Thanks

@Av8tor07 - go to the top right of any page. You'll see your user name "inbox" "alerts". Click on your user name. Top option on the left column is "personal details". Click on that and go to "Location". Once you fill it in you automatically populate the User Map (found on the top left of any page).
I see right now you have "New Jersey" on your profile. If you don't care to give the city you live in a lot of guys put in their zip code.
Then you can go to the user map, zoom into your area and you will see anchors in your area. One will have your user name on it.

For example if you zoom into the very bottom of Alabama you will see a few anchors on the east side of the bay. My anchor is over Loxley.

Hope this helped bud.

It worked thanks. I didn't know that it required a zip code.

@Av8tor07 - you can either put in your zip or your location.
Ie mine is under "Loxley, AL" and not my zip.

@newbote - sorry about the hijacking. Hope you were able to get a hold of someone. It looks like there are quite a few members near St. Petersburg. Hopefully someone can answer your question for you.

Bimini Bay is all no wake... Depending on where you are in Bimini bay it's not more then 10-15 minutes... The views are great the home and the boats... If I'm late on this post I'm sorry...

I'm stationed there with the Coast Guard (Cortez)...
Your hot spots for the area... Bean point, there's a huge sand bar, clear water it's quiet, water is shallow... Directly behind Bimini if you exit and go left.

Jewfish Key, long boat pass is were you'll find all the action on the weekends... (opposite side of the island - headed toward Sarasota)

Thanks for the update - we did book a house on a canal for the 1st week in June. It looks like Bimini Bay is very shallow - I can see the channel markers as you enter from the intracoastal but don't see any on the bay. Are the channels marked well inside the bay? The house we rented is to the north and either the 3rd or 4th canal on intracoastal side.

If you use Google Earth you can get a very good and accurate layout of the shallows...

When entering Bimini, there are channel markers and it's very easy to navigate. Galloties marina has a great sushi restaurant too BTW. You will see the shoals on the right side besides that it's super easy. If you don't have a GPS on the boat. Navionics app (free) works well there too. When running the icw stick to the channels, I've braved it all on plane it's easy to see everything during the day... Cortez kitchen and starfish are great lil hole in the wall spots.... But if your wanting a great view... Reef Grill on the manatee River... Food is amazing and it's on the water...

Jewish is the spot for cold beverages music and mingling the local hangout... 10 min run from where your Gunna be (south)

If you've never been there before.. It's gorgeous... Egmont is another good spot, Gulf side... Passage key can be interesting too...
