Anyone Tried These LED Lights?

This underwater LED is designed to use as a replacement for the drain plug. Seems to be a pretty good idea and relatively easy install with no drilling. Anyone tried one of these?

I have one of those. It isn't as bright as some of the installs you see on the forum, but not bad for about $60. It appears to be very well built and is definitely an easy install. I don't have any photos as we have only been out once this year with it dark enough to test and the water hadn't yet cleared from run off. It is too bad we don't have 2 drains to put these in...that would be ideal.

Good 'ol American ingenuity! I give him credit for building a better mousetrap, that's for sure. The only thing stopping me is that we rarely get out on the water at night anymore.

It does look decent for 60 bucks though.

Interesting that he has almost infringed on a name that is already taken for LED transom plug boat lighting, and considerably larger and more powerful than his, also considerably more money. But drain plug lights are just a bad idea IMO. This is a plug that must be removed and installed every time you launch and retrieve the boat. That puts a great deal of strain on the wiring twisting the wire each time you remove the plug. Secondly, anything with really enough power and diffuser capability will be so large that it is now a hazard mounted and hanging off the drain plug. Just my thoughts, we all have different motivations. For a few bucks, you get to see what an underwater light is like. If you want real illumination of your transom area underwater, your going to be spending about 5 to 7 times that amount to get it.
