That seems pretty beefy. And a lot of light output. I don't know why it scares me so much to put holes in the boat for parts that will constantly be under water, but it sure does.
I am nervous about drill holes also but I just wasn't happy with the two 1200 lumens lights. The plug lights are easy to install and they worked well with my 19ft boat (two plugs) but my 212 only has one plug right behind the rudder.

Definitely post your results. I'll eventually get back to this, and will keep this thread updated if/when that happens.
