Automatic bilge pump?

I have an a 2015 Yamaha AR 192 and was wondering if the bilge pump is automatic when my battery is turned off and not in use…I keep the boat in a slip at a Marina here in Georgia in the summer! Any thoughts? Thx! I’ve had the boat 2 years and never have cked it…is it located in the engine compartment??

I do not believe that your bilge pump is wired directly to the battery with an inline fuse. I am pretty sure you need to have the battery switch on as well as the bilge pump switch on for it to work, I always did. Many people add another pump on a float switch wired to the battery with an inline fuse down below the stock pump location that, as designed, can allow alot of water down there before it kicks on.

If your unsure, put the drain plug in & start filling the bilge with water and see if the water gets pumped out. It's a good idea to do this at least once a season to ensure that your bilge pump works.

Just make sure you jack up the bow first. Leaving it level could take all day with all the water the bilge can hold. Lol
