Just wanted to know what others would do in my situation. I purchased 2021 Yamaha AR250 from Powersports 360 in Huron Ohio. I have purchased two new wave runners and an AR190 here in the past two years. I was satisfied until the delivery of my AR250. First I purchased in December and they agreed to keep it for me until I wanted it. I began making phone calls in March to set up a date to pick it up. No return calls after two weeks leaving no less than 6 messages. I come to find out through the parts counter( the only guy that would answer the phone) my salesman had quit. I tried the sales team again .... nothing. I found card of the finance manager ( super great guy) he called me back and was very apologetic. He set up delivery date for me. Delivery day I went in and they were still trying to clean the boat which I thought was weird as they had two weeks to get ready. I was also told I’d get a water test... they said it was too cold it was about 60 so I wasn’t going to fight. I honestly messed up by not thoroughly inspecting the boat as I was too excited to get it home... I got it home and discovered all kinds of issues.... the bolts holding the dashboard were missing three of four behind the connect screen and the other was half way out... several scratches found in dash area and on swim deck... window molding not properly installed, some sort of overspray all o we dash and white part of the boat. Also there was a bloody finger print and unknown stain on the cooler. I tried calling guess what no call backs, called finance guy and he got someone to call me back... service manager ... said he was sorry and to bring boat back up to get screws put in dash... not sure when he could get body work done... I live 2 hours away I’m not happy with this. I call Yamaha they said they would call dealer and see what could be done.... crickets from Yamaha for last 2 weeks... guy from service said they could pick boat up but I’d have to come get it.... is this an acceptable experience for a new boat???? Thoughts appreciated... I filed complaint with BBB so far

A little extra information.. I sent pictures the day I got home with boat to the general manager he acknowledged getting the pictures. I was also told an owner would be contacting me... nothing so far it’s been about a month

What a deal. I would be on their asses until everything is perfect. Though, it might be worth finding another Yamaha dealer to get the work done? Maybe talking to Yamaha into finding another dealer that will do all the work since Powersports doesn’t seem too reliable...

Had an experience with a motorcycle in Texas, dealer runaround. I ended up calling Yamaha in Japan, two days later, Yamaha of California called, listen to my issues and completely agreed with me. They reimbursed me for the issues I experienced, plus had me take my bike to any Yamaha dealer of my choice where everything was made right.
My experience with Yamaha was, when you call Yamaha Japan and they have to call Yamaha USA to find out why this isn't being handled there, things happen to get done because they don't want their product line tarnished.
I lean loyal to Yamaha for this (bikes, jetski's, and now boat).
Your issue warrants someone needing to be made aware of the unpleasant situation Powersports 360 has put you in.
I'd go to the Top of the food chain.

Awesome I’ll try today

I would NOT hold any hope in expecting help from Yamaha USA customer support. They are totally non responsive and really just don't give a shit. I had some initial problems with Connext on my 2016. Fortunately, my dealer, Texas Marine, took care of everything, but Yamaha never responded to my phone calls.

Great lol. I’ll try my luck with Japan

If you still believe in the dealer I’d work to get it back to them to fix these things. You’ll probably need to call and say I’m bringing it on this day and want it back this day and just go. The other option is to ask for money back, if there was a line item for prep fee that would be perfect negotiating point, and then take it to a more local place for what you cant fix your self. I would do the latter option. Note, a lot of people on here would rather do the prep themselves, or had to “redo” it after delivery anyway. Hope You get it resolved satisfactorily.

I’ve lost confidence in the dealer for sure. There is another Yamaha dealer much closer to me that I wish I had purchased from. I bought from here because I liked the salesman I had previously. He quit and went elsewhere. The dealer I bought from Blake’s Yamaha fir not having good workers due to the pandemic and Yamaha blames the transport and the dealer.

Sorry edit... blames not Blake’s

There is actually a line order for 500$ handling and 1651$ shipping

Know them well - you are referring to J&J Sales in Huron aka Powersports360 -

Exactly why I bought my new AR250 from Buckeye - amazing experience with them and the service department guarantees an in on Monday and out by Friday performance guarantee if you buy from them. Buckeye also spends about 40 hours on the prep before you ever set foot on the boat - I had 3 minor issues and they spent no less than 2.5 hours with me going over the boat top to bottom just this past Friday. Highly recommend them - JD is my sales guy and is amazing to deal with.

You are in a pickle for sure - Buckeye I think picks up a bunch of work from J&J who are known for poor service. I would not buy anything from them and I know many of the guys over there. Service department is good if you know someone - I buy oil and plugs and yamaha lube - maybe from them that is all and only because they have a Port Clinton store 5 minutes from my boat.

Yamaha is dealer heavy manufacturer. I would try calling Buckeye to see if they will take it over. I have zero confidence in J&J.

Yep you are correct I wish I had gone to Buckeye it’s only like 35 minutes from me. I went to J and J because of the salesman I had a really good report with for the past two years... he quit lol. So I placed the complaint with the BBB and today I got a call from J and J lol... they came and picked up the boat today. Instill feel like I deserve something for the hassle but maybe I’m wrong I’m thinking this.

*rapport lol autocorrect makes me look like a fool

You all seemed to get better walkthroughs when you picked up your boats. My dealer had mine on their lake, started it, did 2 quick laps, let me do 2 quick laps, and that was it. No going over options. No going over what not to do. Nothing. I was pissed to say the least. But at least I dont have many issues. Just a cushion they owe me and a couple life jackets.
