Bad purchase experience need advice

You all seemed to get better walkthroughs when you picked up your boats. My dealer had mine on their lake, started it, did 2 quick laps, let me do 2 quick laps, and that was it. No going over options. No going over what not to do. Nothing. I was pissed to say the least. But at least I dont have many issues. Just a cushion they owe me and a couple life jackets.
Didn't you get yours from Just Add Water. They had mine on the lake as well ready when I got there, took a few laps and he (Troy) explained everything to me in detail, how to deploy/stow Bimini, all the buttons and switches, bilge pump, etc. It was a very good experience

Same salesman, different experience. I had to drag info out of them. It was like I knew more than they did from researching this site. I spent 70k there, not including coastguard kit, and they wouldnt even change bow roller, provide license plate bolts or even help me hook it up to my truck. I even left with the low fuel light on. Wouldnt even send me with a full tank of gas in the boat.

Wow. Mine was pre covid (March 2020), or at least until the craze. I only spent 32K...lol. He helped me hook it up to the trailer and showed me how to put mooring cover on and gave me a full tank of gas. I think this boat craziness shortage has made all experiences worse it sounds like

Sad that they are the only close dealer. I got ZERO deals. They actually said they were to busy to put on my bow roller, and they could maybe get me 10 gallons of gas. Mooring cover was wadded up in ski locker, wet. Boat was filthy from their greasy, oily lake. Pure joke.

Lol mine had zero gas and I put my new roller on

I had brought tools because I expected the worse, but my wrench wasnt big enough. I bet someone spent 10 minutes finding me tools for me to do a 2 minute job. Idiots..

The other sad part was months ago when we actually looked at it and signed paperwork, I mentioned the fuel and they told me not to worry about it. Well no shit, cuz they weren't gonna fill it.

I hear the same story every year at this time. Its sad but I get it. The dealers are swamped with everyone wanting to get their new boat or old boat fixed. Not an excuse but this is exactly what happens. My dealer who I like was straight up with me when I bought mine in January, if I wait until its nice to pick it up, they won't have time. However it was 60 degrees the day I picked it up. they helped me hook it up to my truck, showed me how to launch, took me on a 15 minute check out ride while explaining everything and then showed me how to load it back up. Said unless something is totally wrong, don't bother him until July!

Good luck.

Interesting hearing about Yamaha corporate and issues with them. I received an email asking me to fill out a survey about getting warranty work done. In a passive aggressive move I sent a snarky email back saying how could I fill out a survey if I didn't have my boat back? I received a call I think within a few days from Yamaha asking what they could do to help. I was like uhhhhhh, I explained the history of my warranty work and it seemed like Yamaha took forever to approve the claim. At that point it turned into he said she said. As Yamaha said they turned the claim around in 4 days, my dealer said they submitted it weeks before. In any event I got my boat back. It was warranty level quality work, which means not all that great, but not terrible. Once yamaha corporate got involved my boat was done super quick. There was one thing that they forgot to do and it was also done/approved in a few days after the first visit.

I picked mine up in March. 42 degrees when we did our water test. Nobody was in a hurry that day. That was obvious.

Really seems that once they got my signature, I was nothing to them. Worked with them for 2 years looking for a 45k -50k boat. Ended up spending 70k and once the deal was done, I couldnt get responses to emails or text messages

Was wondering how your concerns were coming along, have you had any positive contact from anyone?
So the day after this post the dealer called ( I think due to the BBB complaint) and they came and picked the boat up. They are going to fix all issues. I’m still mad I had to go through this though should I ask for anything? Or will it even matter? Yamaha never called me back lol of course. I hadn’t called Japan due to this. I think maybe I should though depending on final outcome.

Glad to hear (someone) the dealer is finally addressing the issues. I also believe you should in someway be compensated for this BS they've put you through!
