The rubber retaining band for my boarding ladder is hanging by a thread and I need to replace it. It's an $8.20 part on yamahasportsplaza.com. However, they want nearly $16 to ship it.

Sorry, no way.

Anyone know any other options for OEM replacement parts where they don't over charge for shipping?

What I do is find the Yamaha part number then Google it. Then I look at numerous sites to find the best price. Example I just bought a new set of dash ignition switches and found prices from $173 to $236. Like you found make sure you also check the shipping charge to give you the lowest delivered price.

Also, you can check directly with the supplier of the part. In this case the part is supplied to Yamaha by Windline https://windline.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=124

Rumor has it that Windline will just ship you another under their lifetime warranty if you call them.

I hadn't thought about using one of the ball stretch cords. I think I'll give that a try for the short term.

I don't understand sites that charge so much for shipping. The part could easily fit in an envelop and weighs next to nothing and they want so much money to ship it. It's outrageous.
