Brand New AR210 - how many engine hours, 0 or ?

Hi All - about the pull the trigger on a new 2020 AR210. I know it's probably not the best time to be buying a boat with all the coronavirus issues but I've spent a lot of time thinking on it and I'm likely going to move forwards.

My question is - how many hours is there typically on a brand new Yamaha Jet boat (non demo) - is it typical for there to be 0.5 or even 1 hour on the engine hours? the dealer assures me this boat hasn't been on the water/demo'd but said there will likely be 0.5-1 hr on engine as that is typical as they do testing at Yamaha and also dealer. is that what others have found who have bought a brand new model year boat?

Yes not unusual to have a little on them as they do get tested at the factory and the dealer may also run them for prep to ensure everything checks out ok.

Pretty sure they put everyone manufactured on the lake and test them.

They give them a quick out and back run at the factory. Based on the time stamps on some photos and a video I have, the run is only around 5-6 minutes.

Funny how they're planing out which means 5k RPM or better when we're supposed to take it easy on them for an hour+. I wonder if it's only new models/hulls they're testing or every single boat that comes out of the factory?

Mine had .4 when I picked it up, dealer told me they take them for a shakedown run on the lake after setup.

ok ok, here is me on White Lake in the North Pole yesterday - it was a lot of snow so hard to see much in the background

here's some real snaps

been out twice so far and she drives well - did the engine break in procedure on first outing over about 4 hours and second outing after a few more hours of engine break in, went up to WOT for a short period. 40MPH was top (full tank, 3 people) but not very smooth water - I'm hoping that after first oil is replaced that may improve. don't remember exact RPMs.

Great looking boat- love the color. We have a ‘19 AR210 and top speed is about 40-42. With 5+ people it will drop under 40. You won’t see any improvement as hours increase...or changing the oil..
