It's absolutely beautiful here in eastern KY today, and I can't find anyone to blow off work with me and go to the lake. What's this world coming to? Anyway, I hope someone else is having some fun today since I am working from home and really don't want to be here!

Stuck inside looking out on a beautiful day here too.... I feel your pain!

I'll go with! It looks like based on Google Maps' directions if I leave now I can be to Kentucky at about 10p...

I have no problem taking the boat out by myself on days like that. Sure I'd rather have company but I'll use those opportunities to do a few things I wouldn't normally do with other people on board.

- take time to inspect the trailer in detail with the boat tied to the dock.
- clean areas of the trailer that are hard to reach when the boat is on it.
- practice some slow speed steering maneuvers.
- do a max speed run.
- kick back with a book in the shade of the Bimini while at anchor.
- re-learn the PerfectPass controls. I can't seem to remember them from one year to the next. I end up using it in the most basic way so my passengers don't have to wait while I fiddle with it.
- poke around in small branches off the main areas of the lake. Old sailors call this "gunk holing."

I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

Solo boating. Ahhhh. That sounds SO nice. Don't get me wrong: I love boating with my family, but it can get hectic. Sometimes I forget that I'm out with my toy.

I always took my Daysailer out Solo (she hasn't seen the water in a few years, but I still have her) and I had the old Rinker out solo a couple of times. I haven't been out solo on this one simply because I haven't had the chance. One of these days though...

I agree with @jdonalds. You can do a lot of stuff that you normally wouldn't when you go out alone. Everything from trying "new moves" with the boat to fooling around in places you normally wouldn't because someone wants to "get there." (Wherever the heck "there" is and whatever is so important "there" always confuses the snot out of me.)

I had the same thought this morning. In fact, I was about ready to go out and forgot I had an appointment at noon! That shot the day for me! The River looks OK here despite rain last night. @Johmas50 , where do you guys usually boat? I've only been to Cumberland and Norris south of me. Been to plenty of lakes to the north.

The boat stays at Laurel River Lake. It is about 10 miles west of Corbin/London off of 75. Really pretty lake, very clear water and is located in Daniel Boone Forest so there is no development along the shore. We travel around quite a bit too and have been to Norris, Cumberland and Cave Run but Laurel has been our favorite so far. If you are ever in the area give me a shout on here before. It would be an easy drive down from NKY as it is close to the interstate. @steined
