Can an amp be mounted on the bow side wall in the helm compartment? I'm considering mounting as shown in the picture below. I was going to mount it right to the fiberglass. The amp is a WS HTX-4. This will be the only amp I'm installing. Any recommendations on how long of screws I should use?

Yes it can be mounted in that location. The way I did it was to remove the seat back and make a mounting board for the amp, from marine board. Drill through the back rest area into the amp mounting board, you need a second person to hold the board while you drill through both at the same time. Then use thick rubber hose cut offs as spacers between the amp board and mounting area. The hook up cables can be neatly tucked and routed behind and through the amp board. Length of the screws are determined by how thick the mounting board and the spacers are. I used machine screws with washers and lock nuts for the amp and the amp board.

Thanks for all the info. Mounted it last night by taking the seat off as suggested. Happy with the results. Next steps are to run the wires.IMG_1005.jpeg

I have an amp mounted there. I glued two strips of wood to the fiber glass then screwed into wood. I used E6000 glue, its held up for 4 years now.

How did you guys run the amp power and signal wires to that space?

It's actually really easy. You can run right down the side of the hull. It's all open. I run the wire back through that channel then around the port aft compartment into the engine bay. I then follow the other wires to the battery compartment.

I would use starboard and mount it to the fiberglass with 3M 5200. It is not coming off and no need to drill. then just affix to starboard.

Yes. You can!

Marked a piece or marine board drilled holes in it then used it as a template to drill through from the inside out. It helped to use 1/8 drill bit to minimize gel coat splintering, then drilled from the outside to the inside inserted some bolts with rubber hoses slipped on to hold the amp board off the fiberglass to allow the cables to route under
