Canucks, where you at?

@Canuckjetboater I love heading out onto the Rideau. I'm in Barrhaven, 10 min drive away from Manotick. But a few years ago, we went boating for about three days and camped on one of the Parks Canada Admiralty Islands. Talk about a stunning area! I loved that visit. We boated all over, went over to the states as well and visited the classic Boldt Castle. We discovered my cousin, a new doctor in upstate NY had a relatively new boyfriend who just happens to own one of the islands in that Millionaire's row. We got to go spend an afternoon there by boat. Stunning place as well. All around, really enjoyed the Thousand Islands. Will definitely have to plan to go again one day.

Also from Ottawa, last year was our first year with the boat. Wet slipped at our campsite in the Eganville area. Might get the courage to travel to some other lakes this season. Still have a lot to learn, this forum is awesome,

Expat from Calgary Alberta. Been down in Texas the last 14yrs. Just getting into the boating scene.
"just getting into..."
Are you kidding me? You're about to get "into" a friggin' rocket on the water. Take it easy till she is broken in...after that your face will hurt - I grin like a little kid every time I punch it in our slowpoke 212s.

I heard it's nice up there too, haven't had a chance to get there yet.

We love boating and camping...we just found out last year we could camp on some islands in the 1000 islands area and definitely want to try...dang covid blocked us last summer.
went over to the states as well and visited the classic Boldt Castle.
We wanted to do this too, but again covid.
A-Bay has a great bar/food/nightlife scene...we've been there many times but never with the boat. Now we want to do that...dang covid.

I really don't like this covid stuff.

@Luc Lafreniere know Barrhaven area well, have friends living near there. We boaters in this area are definitely spoiled - so many places to go, nearby! You have the right sized jetboat to haul easily and go in a lot of the shallow water around the 1000 islands!

@osins74 ..... you'd love the St. Lawrence 1000 islands area. I would recommend launching at a marina near or in Gananoque as that puts you right in the heart of the 1000 (actually 1800) Islands.

@Scuba_ref ...... SCUBA fan here too - certified in 1970. Man has the equipment changed since then! As for your location in Hawaii....I'm certified jealous of that!

NAUI since 1981, man 1970? Nope, not going to ask.:winkingthumbsup" I still have all my gear and I still fit in my farmer john wetsuit. No, no proof in recent pictures, just take my word for it. LOL.

@zipper .....AWESOME. Yes, you read right 1970. In that time have gotten wet all over the world. Too many experiences to pick a favorite although close encounter with a some Humpback Whales a couple of years ago was fun as was being the fist divers, wife and I, - with a certified government guide- to dive the just sunk U.S.S. Kittiwake in Cayman. I shot an hour of video on that ship and it was sitting completely straight-up on the ocean floor. Too bad subsequent storms damaged it. Most diving we do now is on the walls of Turks&Caicos or swim throughs of the Caymans. Will try to attach a picture of the wife and I waiting to "hit the pool" on the Turks&Caicos wall off North West Point Turks and Caicos in February of last year. The other divers threw a bit of a celebration as it was my 50th year of diving. Yeah, I know. Actually - my biggest thrill was taking my grand daughter SCUBA diving for her first time. I started getting her used to having a reg in her mouth and breathing under water by letting her use my Spare Air in family pools when she was tiny! I knew we were on to something when I couldn't get her to surface and she was sucking on an empty tank lol! On her first dive she saw turtles, rays, eels, sharks......addiction guaranteed. We hope to get back to the Caribbean this Spring when/if things settle down C19 wise.

Great stuff. It sure is fun to dive off your own boat!

@Nexus ..... I have a NEXUS card lol!!!! We owned two custom-made cruisers. Sold them both to Americans living in Chicago area. They were shipped down from my home in Brockville to Chicago. The two owners met-up to party with my ex-boats and took pictures for me. One was a 2013 EC 310 with twin 350 Mags and Axius Joystick the other was a 2014 EC 360 with twin 502 Mags with Axius joysticks. Both were loaded with generators refrigerators, ice makers, radar, Sat TV. We had a lot of fun cruising in the 1000 Islands here with them. Both had all black hulls with massive underwater lighting systems. They definitely drew a crowd at the docks. I'll try to attach a couple of pics.
Lol! I've go it one too! Cruiser boat's is a brand we are considering when we want to go a bit bigger (and stay on/with the boat for the weekend). I've been to the 1000 islands area a couple of times but only on land. Would be nice to do it on a boat.

Where was that scuba picture taken? It kind of looks like the Magdalen Islands, Qc (where my family is from) but maybe the water is too blue?

@Nexus ..... picture taken just off North West Point, Providenciales Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. Big wall diving there, easily 5,000 feet deep. That's one place that I swam with some Humpbacks. The other was at Salt Cay Island Turks and Caicos. We dive with Dive Provo while there as they are a superior dive outfit. In the Caymans we dove with Stuart Cove and Don Foster.

It’s always crazy to me reading everyone’s life experiences. Those crazy pics of the titanic ships lol. Life has no limits that’s for sure. Im over this covid bs and just waiting for the snow to melt. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the winter and all it has to offer like snowmobiling, cross country skiing, to outdoor fires.
If covid keeps up lake hoping might be the only real option we get to just get away!
