Hey All,

I have the option to buy a lightly used 200HP VRX 243. The ad stated 250HP which is what I thought and now am not sure if I want the boat. My Sea-Doo Mechanic says it is just a different air intake and possible super charging and new mapping of the ECU. Not sure if this is worth it or will void the warranty or will affect the docking mode once remapped?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would humbly suggest finding the right boat with the right engine if that's your ultimate goal. These conversions are generally academic exercises that are never an economic success. Maybe I'm wrong and never is too strong a word, but I have not heard of an economical upgrade to an engine that can be purchased already baked in, on a boat that works well and desires better performance. If the engine was blown and you were looking at big money either way, then I would consider, but from scratch..It would be hard pass for me.
